"Aria you need to go get checked up. It's been three days and you still throwin up and coughin all over my damn house man, fuck."

She flushed the toilet and walked over to the sink brushing her teeth and washing her hands. It's been three days since I've been released from the hospital and Aria been staying with me. She was supposed to be helping me out cause a nigga movement a lil limited, cause I'm all beat up but I been taking care of her instead.

"August please I just wanna sleep." She whined.

"Fuck no. Put on some clothes you going to the doctor, or you can go in your night clothes. I don't care but you going."

She sighed as she sat on the bed and coughed. "I'll just go like this, let's go." She grabbed her phone and headed to the door.

I shook my head and followed behind her.

"Aria Deale?" The doctor came back in the room?

"Yes?" She mumbled in between her cough.

"After all the test we've ran it seems you have pertussis, often known as whooping cough." He explained.

He looked over at me. "It's highly contagious I'm surprised she hasn't passed it along to you."

"Cause I'm a real nigga." I shrugged and Aria kissed her teeth.

The doctor laughed. "Well I'm going to prescribe you some medication. After taking it for a few days it won't be contagious anymore. You may still have the symptoms but you won't be able to pass it along."

She nodded and continued to cough. The doctor filled out her prescription and handed it to her.

"You feel better now Ms.Deale." He started "And you" he turned to me "I know she's your girlfriend and all but no kissing or intimacy for the next few days."

I laughed at how sure of himself he was. "Yeah man, I got you."

The car ride back to my home neither of us said much until Aria spoke.

"I talked to Jasmine," she started "you know to see how Asia was doing and all."

I nodded. "Oh how is she?"

"She's out of the hospital, she's leaving to go on vacation tomorrow." She said staring out the window.

"Oh, that's cool I guess."

"August?" She said while coughing.

"Wassup?" I glanced over at her.

"You really need to talk to her, I'm not saying you have to get back with her but after the history you all have you both deserve some type of closure." She said staring at me.

"Aria I done told you-"

"I know what you told me but August I seen you cry over this, it's not something you can brush under the rug like it never happened. If you wanna move on fine, but you need closure to do that."

I sighed. I know Aria right but I'm really not looking forward to talk to Asia. Shit hurt too bad and I feel like a bitch for letting her have that power over me.

"I'a talk to ha."

"Today?"

"Nah man not today."

"She's leaving tomorrow August."

"Damn Aria why you care so much?" I snapped at her.

The way she looked at me immediately made me feel bad.

"You're my friend I just want to help." She said looking away from me.

"I'm sorry ma, I ain't mean to yell at you. I appreciate it and I appreciate you." I said grabbing her hand. She never said another word the rest of the way home.

As soon as I got in the house and I sat on the couch and Aria went straight to the room to go to sleep. I pulled out my phone staring at Asia's number.

"Fuck it." I hit the call icon and listened to the ringing.

"Hello?" She answered as if she weren't sure if it was me.

"Iyasia, it's me."

"Oh hey, wassup?"

"You busy right now?"

I could hear shuffling in the background before she responded. "No, not at all." She responded.

"Alright can I meet you somewhere? You know to talk?"

"Yeah sure."

"Um alright, actually could I just come over?"

"Yeah, see you soon." She said and I could tell she was smiling through the phone. I hung up and leg of a breath of relief.

I walked in the room and seen Aria spread out on the bed dead sleep. I laughed and grabbed my phone taking a picture of her and uploaded it to Instagram. I captioned it "sleepin beauty 😍 she a beast when she awake tho don't be fooled, literally a creature."

I laughed to myself cause I'm just too fucking funny.

"Aria, I'll be back." I said while fixing the covers on her.

"Okay, I'll be here." She coughed.

"I'll go pick up yo prescription on the way back."

"Mkay thank you."

I grabbed my keys and headed out.

"Wassup A?" I pulled her into a hug and I could tell she was surprised.

"Nothing much, just packing for my vacation. What's up?"

"I heard you going on vacation, ain't fucking with lil ole Florida." I laughed.

She smiled. "Ain't fucking with it just for a little while.

I nodded and decided to start the conversation "That's wassup but we need to talk." I sat back on the couch.

"Agreed." She nodded.

"So I guess I'a start." I shrugged. "Um A, you know I love da hell out of you and bein away from you been hard but you did exactly what you wanted me not to do and I'm just hurt man I do hope you understand where I'm comin from-"

"Can she say something?" She cut me off but I nodded for her to speak. "I love you too." She smiled before looking down and playing with her nails. "I know I haven't shown you that but I do. I'd be dead if you hadn't come after me." She started to tear up. "August I'm forever grateful for everything you've ever done for me and as much as I want and need you back I don't deserve you." Her voice began to get shaky.

I sighed and looked at the ground cause now this shit was harder than I expected. "A man stop cryin please."

"I'm sorry." She apologized and started to wipe her face. "August more than anything I loved our friendship, I loved confiding in you. I don't wanna lose that Aug I lost your trust and I get it but I don't wanna lose your friendship."

I took a deep breath. "You got my friendship foreva man." I said truthfully. I could never leave Asia high and dry. "Who's to say we won't end up together again."

She nodded and smiled. "Who's to say."

I leaned over and grabbed her face kissing her forehead. "I love you A."
