Chapter 11

He'd done it. He'd gone and done it. As soon as Gala stepped onto the train, Blitz had asked Meadow on a date. And right now, he was standing holding his breath along with their parents and other friends.

"Um...." Meadow murmured before her cheeks changed to a deep rose. "YES!"

Meadow flung herself at Blitz, knocking all air and sense of speech out of the shocked colt. Blitz was silent as Meadow gently nuzzled Blitz's neck, before retreating back to her sister and mother, cheeks on fire.

Blitz sighed. What have I gotten myself into?

Meadow fluttered home, tired and depressed. She had failed Rainbow Blitz. On their very first date. He wanted to go flying, she wanted to go for a walk. And....and........THEY GOT IN AN ARGUMENT! Meadow had never been in an argument.

She buried her head into her pillow.
She really did love him.

Blitz stared out at the endless sky. How he wished to make it up to her. It reminded him of a song as he started to sing in a sad but catchy tune.

I drew a broken heart,
Right on your window pane,

Blitz reached out of his window as he ended the first part of the song. Slowly, he traced a heart in the sky.

Miles away, Meadow continued the melody...singing all her sorrow away.

Sadly, their voices intertwined, they sighed;

That's up.

Rainbow flew out of his window while singing;

Right back to where it was.

The lovesick couple sung in harmony, as Meadow ran out, practising her flight;

I'll be the one to cross over,

Meadow began her solo, starting to improve her speed in flight. Meanwhile, Blitz tried making friends with the woodland creatures.

Blitz joined in, befriending a squirrel.

I know this love is heading in the same direction that's up.

Meadow's voice faded, concentrating on flying until she finally got a turquoise streak behind herself, a leopard print streaking in the middle. Blitz finally befriended half of the forest animals.

Girl, I know we can fly back to where we were then,

Put my heart in your hands.

Meadow joined in, delighted at her progress in her self-taught flight lessons.

Oh, I hope and I pray that you do understand,
If you did, all you have to say is;
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah..

Blitz, with a burst of courage, shouted;
I'm waiting for you!
Then continued with the duet.

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah...

Suddenly, Meadow realized she performed a Sonic Rainboom, with turquoise and leapord print. Overjoyed she yelled;

Ohhhhhhhhh!

Then the duet continued.
