Kyrie's P.O.V

"Dal, Dallas, am I doing the right thing?", I asked, waiting on Ponyboy to get out of the bathroom. Today was the day, I was finally marrying Ponyboy Curtis. Dallas was fiddling with his tie when he stood up and walked in front of me.

"You love this boy, now go marry him.", he smiled. He kissed my forehead, as we heard a toilet flush and Pony step out of the bathroom. I turned around and smiled at him.

"Come on, I'm about ready to marry Darry, y'all taking so long.", Two-Bit whined. Darry glared at him and then the doors opened.

"Curtis?", a judge called. We all stood up straight and walked inside.

After your typical wedding talk it was time.

"I do.", Ponyboy said. I felt anxious, maybe butterflies?

"Kyrie?", the minister asked.

I looked past Ponyboy at Sodapop. I couldn't believe in less than a week he would be leaving with Steve.

"Kye, say 'I Do'.", Dal interrupted.

"I-I don't. I don't, Ponyboy. I love you, but I can't do this.", I said.

"What?", Pony cried. Everyone gasped.

"I'm so sorry.", I ran out immediately. I heard footsteps behind me but I didn't turn around. I ran off a little faster.

"Kyrie!", I heard Soda call. I stopped when I saw him.

"Soda, please don't leave me.", I cried.

"What?", he asked.

"I don't want you to get deployed. I don't want you to leave. I want it to be me and you."

"Kyrie, I'm confused.", he said.

"Sodapop, I love you. I love you so much.", I explained. "Pony was a great first love, but there's too much problems between us. I don't feel that spark between us anymore. But when I'm with you, oh Soda, I feel like I could do anything."

"Kyrie...", he started. "Just wait till I get home from the war. We-we're going to be so happy together."

"Really?", I excitedly asked.

"Really.", he cupped my face and kissed my lips hard.

My whole life has been a mess but I can only hope I'm making it okay now.
