The next day I walked out onto the porch to talk to Soda.
"I'm sorry, So.", I apologized.
"I understand, it's okay.", he replied.
"I don't want you to go to war. I don't know how to say goodbye.", I said.
"We're not saying goodbye. You say goodbye when you know there won't be anymore hello's. And there will be more Hello's.", Soda explained. I smiled and hugged him. Then I went inside to plan my wedding.
"So, when so you want it?", I asked Pony.
"When Soda and Steve gets back.", he answered. I sighed.
"Same. But we don't know when they'll be back. If they ever come back.", I said.
"What do you mean? They're going to come back. Kyrie, they're going to be ok.", he replied. I looked down at my hands. Feeling stupid for what I had just said. He came closer to me and lifted my chin with his thumb.
"What?", I asked.
"Nothing, I just really love your eyes.", he answers. I smiled and leaned in. I gave him a peck on the lips and when I pulled away he brought me back.
"I'm not done with those lips just yet.", he winked. He smashed his lips into mine and pulled me closer. I felt his tongue on my bottom lip and I opened my mouth slightly. I could feel his tongue swirl in my mouth. I pulled back and looked him in the eyes. We were both breathing hard, but didn't want to stop.
"God, I love you so much.", he whispered with his forehead against mine. I responded by kissing his lips. I deepened the kiss. Slowly he began pulling away, I followed trying to keep the kiss going. He pulled all the way back.
"What is it?", I asked.
"I don't know. Do you smell something burning?", he responded. I smelled for a minute and nodded. We both got up and went outside. Two-Bit had the kitchen on fire.
"Two!! What happened??", I panicked.
"I was cooking and I don't know that!", he yelled pointing at the fire. The guys went and got a fire extinguisher. Luckily, the fire did little damage and no one was hurt.
I sighed, "Two-Bit, you ruined the moment."
"What moment?", he asked. I winked and he laughed.
"Come on, I have something to show you.", Ponyboy whispered. He grabbed my hand and pulled me outside. We started walking on the sidewalk.
"Ponyboy, where are we going?", I asked.
"It's a surprise.", he turned around and winked. After a while of walking, we ended up at this big beautiful lake. There was a huge dock with canoe like boats on it.
"Wanna go for a ride?", Pony asked. I bit my lip and nodded. He helped me into it and he started paddling.
"Where did you find this?", I asked him.
"When I was younger, before my parents died, they would take us out here. My dad would fish with Darry and Soda. My mom and I would go sit in a tree house up in this big oak tree and she would read to me.", he answered.
"Is the tree house still there?", I asked.
He smiled at me and let out a small chuckle, that's where I'm taking you.", he answered.
"How come I've never heard about this?", I asked.
He shrugged his shoulders, "If it makes you feel any better, Johnny doesn't know. I always found that to be my escape place. I should really tell Johnny about it for those nights his parents kick him out and he has no where else to stay."
"Johnny's old enough to leave, why doesn't he?", I asked.
Ponyboy sighed, "I don't know. I think he thinks that he doesn't have anywhere to stay. I've told him many times to go ahead and come over to the house, he keeps saying no. I don't know."
"Maybe he thinks there's not enough room. I can always see if Dallas would let Ole' Jonnycakes crash there.", I suggested. I looked up and noticed the giant tree house.
"We're here.", Ponyboy grinned.
"It's breath taking.", I said in awe. We walked up the ladder and into it. There was Christmas lights up around it, a blanket spread out on the ground, a picnic basket, and candles.
"Let's eat.", Ponyboy said. I laughed and followed him to blanket. We sat down and he pulled out my favorite desert, cheesecake. We ate, laughed, and talked. We even started talking about the wedding. It was really relaxing.
"Let's have it here.", I suggested.
"In a tree house?", he asked, slightly confused.
"No, silly, perhaps the dock or something. We can have the honey moon here, though.", I winked. It was getting dark. I walked up to the window and looked at the sunset.
"Ponyboy, come look at this.", I called. He came up and wrapped his arms around my waist. Then he rested his head on my shoulder.
"It's beautiful, just like you.", he kissed my shoulder. I smiled.
"Will you read to me, like how your mom read to you?", I asked.
"I'm sure you don't want me to read some little kid book.", he replied.
"No, but I do tend to keep this around.", I said and pulled out my copy of "Romeo and Juliet" from my bag. He smirked and took the book from my hands. He sat down against the wall and I sat inbetween his legs. He began reading and I snuggled into his chest. He read until I drifted off to sleep.
How was that? I really like this chapter, to be honest. I don't even know where I thought of that. Anyways, Happy Thannksgiving. I'm thankful for you guys and the Outsiders. Lol, don't let this be the only day you tell someone how grateful you are for them. Have a blessed day! (:
