We made it to DX and I went to go hang out with Soda in the garage.
"Hey Little Miss Winston.", Soda greeted, looking over from the hood of a soc's mustang.
"Sup, Pepsi-Cola.", I replied.
"What do you need?", he asked wiping his hands on a grease rag.
"A hideout. A group of socs tried to jump Johnny and I and just in case they come back, we could use you and Stevie.", I answered.
"Stevie?", Soda asked. I started laughing and left the garage. I walked into the convenience store part of the DX and grabbed a coke.
"That'd be fifteen cents.", Steve said. I was digging in my pockets until Dally dropped a nickel and a dime on the counter.
"Thanks Dal.", I said.
"No problem, you just owe me a drink.", he negotiated. I laughed and handed him the coke bottle. He chugged half of it before giving it back to me.
"My turn.", Two-Bit said. I rolled my eyes, took one sip, and handed him the bottle.
About two or three hours later it was time for the boys to lock up.
"Y'all ready to get out of here?", Soda asked.
"Yeah, it's started to feel like a hospital room.", Dally joked. We were about five blocks away from the house when my legs started hurting.
"Pony, my legs hurt.", I complained.
"I would carry you, but I'm about to fall over, mine killing me, too.", Pony agreed.
"Same here. Growing pains, man.", Johnny spoke. I ran behind Steve and jumped on his back. Pony and Johnny seen what I did and did the same. Pony got on Soda's back and Johnny got on Dally's. The only reason why Dallas didn't throw Johnny off was because Johnny is like our brother. Other than me, Johnny's the only thing Dallas cares about.
We walked in laughing. Darry looked up from his news paper. He didn't look too good.
"Darry, is everything all right?" Soda asked dropping Pony. That cued Steve and Dally to drop us.
"Yeah.", he sighed. "Dal and Ky, you mind staying the night? You can, too Johnny." We looked confused at each other.
"I'll be on my way.", Two-Bit said at the same time as Steve. They awkwardly said goodbye and went on their way.
"Johnny, you and Pony go with Soda up to their room and get ready for bed.", Darry instructed. I looked at Dally kind of scared.
Dally and I made our way to the couch.
"Darry?", Dallas asked for Darry's attention.
"I got a call from the police station today. Y'all's dad is trying to get you back. He came down here from New York to fight for you. We're going to court soon. I'm gonna try and be your legal guardian, since Dally is only seventeen. When he turns eighteen, Dally, you can become Kyrie's guardian.", Darry explained. I became terrified. I started shaking and having an anxiety attack. We never had the money for pills for when I got anxiety so I had to deal with it. I rarely got it, but when I did, I could go crazy.
"Darry, she's about to blow.", Dally warned. I pulled my knees up to my chest and held myself shaking. I felt tears begin to fill my eyes and I was ready to scream.
"I picked up something today, incase the judge asked.", Darry totally ignored. Dallas pulled me into his lap and held me like he always does when I have anxiety attacks.
"It's ok. We aren't going back to the dungeon. Darry and I certainly won't let that happen.", Dally comforted in a whisper. This was one of those rare soft side moments.
