I woke up in a hospital bed. The whole gang was swarmed at my bed side. All except, Dallas.

"What's going on?", I asked.

"You passed out. You got taken to the hospital.", Darry answered. I put my hands in my face. I guess it was true. Dallas was seriously in jail.

"Hey, it's ok. Pony's here. We also know about that little thing between the two of you.", Steve told me. I started to laugh and when I looked at Ponyboy, he was blushing.

"Sorry, I kind of told the guys by accident.", Johnny apologized.

"That was no accident.", Ponyboy confronted him.

"Hey, listen, we talked to Darry and you can stay with us until Dal gets out and if he don't then, you can still stay with us.", Soda told me.

"Thanks, I don't know what I would without you guys. I think they would end up putting me in a girls home or worse.", I said.

"What do you mean or worse?", Two-Bit asked.

"They'd give me back to my dad. I'd end up dead there.", I replied. Then, the doctor came in.

"Ah, Ms. Winston, I see you're up. You must've been exhausted. You woke up a day later.", The doctor said. My eyes widened.

"Well, can she leave now?", Darry asked.

"Yeah, I think she's good to go", The doctor answered. We all smiled. The gang left the room long enough for me to get dressed. When I walked into the waiting room with the gang, so Darry could get my discharge papers I noticed a couple of women discussing something big in the paper.

"That Dallas kid needs to grow up. He needs to get that sister of his under control, too. Have you heard about the way she talked to Officer Elliot?", The first woman asked the second.

"Yes, I have. Those two are nothing but trouble. Says here her name is Kyrie. Man, I'd hate to have a brother like Dallas.", Lady number two responded. I walked over towards them.

"So, I hear you're talking about Dallas and Kyrie Winston?", I asked.

"Yes, we're talking about those filthy animals.", Woman number one answered. They both never looked up to realize I was me. I snatched the papers out of their hand.

"You might wanna stop. If you haven't noticed, I'm Kyrie Winston and Dallas Winston is my brother you're talking about.", I said in the most serious, and mean tone of voice I could. They had fear written in their faces. Ponyboy came and made me go towards the rest of the group.

"She's as crazy as Dallas, too.", One of them said. I turned and flipped them the bird while me and the rest of the gang walked out of the hospital.

"Are you ok? You know with the whole Dally thing?", Darry asked.

I sighed, "No, I'm not. Dally's been doing so good and we've gotten so close.", I felt tears fill up in my eyes.

"Hey, it's ok. Everything is gonna be ok.", Soda reassured. I smiled and thanked him. Out of no where I felt an arm drape over my shoulder. I looked over and it was Ponyboy, he was smiling at me. I wrapped my arms around his waist as we continued to walk on the side walk. Dallas was all the blood I had left. I don't know my mama and our old man could care less about us. Dally's the only person who has been there for me, before I met the gang of course. We escaped my dad when I was ten. That was four years ago.

We made it to the Curtis house and Johnny, Ponyboy, and I decided to hang out on the porch.

"So, do you think Dally's getting out of jail?", Johnny asked.

"I sure hope so. He's my brother and I need him.", I answered.

"Like, Soda said everything's gonna be alright.", Pony said.

"I'm glad I know ya'll. If it wasn't for any of you, I wouldn't be where I'm at today.", I replied. Pony slipped his hand onto mine and our fingers intertwined.

A cop car passed the house driving slowly, it wasn't Officer Elliot though. It was a skinnier cop this time, kind of cute. He parked his car and stepped over towards us.

"You Ms. Kyrie Winston?", He asked like Elliot did.

"Yes sir Mr.?", I asked to get his name.

"Officer Murphy. I'm here to talk to you about Dallas Winston.", he answered. "Fellas, you mind stepping inside, so I can speak to Ms. Winston alone?"

Ponyboy and Johnny got up and went inside. They didn't say a word, but I knew they were standing close to the door so they could hear.

"Is my brother ok?", I asked.

"Yes, he's fine. Ma'am, he's looking at a possible three-six months in jail. That depends on if the judge feels generous.", Murphy explained. I put my face into my hands. God, please let the judge be nice enough to let my brother out.

"Hey, I also hate to tell you this, but with Winston's record, it doesn't look to bright.", Murphy said. I was getting angry. I lifted my face up and starred at him for a minute.

"Get out of here.", I demanded.

"Excuse me?", he asked.

"Leave. Go, now.", I answered. Murphy returned to his car and left. I went inside and made my way towards Pony's room.

"Hey Ky, is everything ok?", Steve called out. I ignored him and started digging under Pony's bed to find a box that we hide everything in. When I found it, I pulled out a gun. I took it and placed it under my shirt. I walked out of the house and went to some convince store. I was gonna look around and if someone had the nerve to say something about me or Dallas, pull the gun out. My disadvantage is, it's only a toy.
