*Kyrie's P.O.V*
I woke up the next morning and looked around. Johnny and Soda were gone. I went into the living room where everyone looked depressed. There was a cop there also.
"Ms. Wintson, nice seeing you again.", the officer spoke. I recognized him, it was Officer Elliot. I nodded and then Dallas walked in and you could tell he has a masive hangover.
"This about Pone?", he asked, with a bottle of Advil in his hand.
"If you are refering to Ponyboy Michael Curtis, then yes.", Elliot answered. I walked towards Dally, who showed the gang his soft side, by throwing his arm over my shoulders.
"What can we do?", Two-Bit asked.
"If you want, we can call for a search party right now. I'll have others make missing person signs.", Elliot offered.
"That'd be great, Soda, Steve, and I will miss work. Kyrie, Johnny, and the rest go get ready.", Darry instructed. Once we got done, we began the search. Every greaser, Sheppard, etc. helped out.
Soda, Dally, and I stuck together as the rest sprawled out. We began searching in the woods that was beside me when we got jumped. We looked around, not getting too far away.
"How much further does the woods go?", Dally asked.
"Until it hits a creek side.", Soda answered. I was silent, nervous. I had brought my pills and a water bottle, just in case.
I sighed and obviously loud enough for Soda and Dally to turn and look at me to make sure I'm alright. But the truth is, I'm not alright. I need Pony. I miss him so much and it hasn't been a day. If we don't find him, I think I'll lose my ever lasting mind. That's if I hadn't already lost it.
"I'm fine, just keep moving.", I said. We walked around a bit more, until I found a clue.
"Dally, Soda! It's his jacket sleeve!", I yelled. The two rushed over to me.
"Kyrie, we have to take this back to the police.", Dally said.
"No! Not until we stop searching for the day!", I responded stubbornly.
"She has a point, Dal.", Soda agreed with me. Dally nodded and we continued our search.
"I'm so tired.", Soda complained five hours later.
"The sun's about to go down. We can start back up tomorrow.", Dally suggested.
I sighed, "Alright, but right when I wake up we're gonna continue to search."
We began to walk and I stepped in something to cause leaves to stick to the bottom of my shoe.
"What in the-", I mummbled looking down, only to faint.
*Dally's P.O.V*
"What in the-", Kyrie mumbled. Soda and I looked back when we heard a thud. Kyrie had fainted and we didn't know why. When we reached her we looked down and seen she had stepped in a puddle of red. She had stepped in blood.
"Soda, go get help!", I demanded.
"Are you sure you're gonna stay here? It's getting dark?", He hesitating.
"Soda, get a hold of yourself. This is your kid brother's blood. He might be dead or dying or anything. If I go with you we might lose the spot, now go!", I yelled. I looked back up at Soda who had glassy eyes, because he was tearing up. He nodded and sped off. I sat there holding Kyrie. She had finally woken up.
"Dally, what happened?", she asked softly.
"Ky, you stepped in a puddle of blood. We're not sure who's though. I sent Soda out to go find out.", I answered. She started shaking, indicated she was having an anxiety attack. I reached into her bag and made her take her medicine.
"Sir, can you hand me Ms. Winston's shoe and leave the premices?", Elliot asked.
"Yeah, I understand.", I answered, having to carry Kyrie.
"I don't Dally. I don't wanna leave. What if Pony shows up here?", she asked about to freak out.
"It's a crime scene. We have to go.", on the way back, I tried my hardest to explain every thing to her. I looked down at her and she fell asleep. I can't abandon her, not now at least. I'll lose everything before I lose her, including my reputation.
When we walked inside it was completely silent. There was no Two-Bit making sarcastic jokes, or Soda and Steve arm wrestling or anything. Like it was all dead.
I went to Pony's room and sat her on the bed. I would come back whenever I get tired. She's gonna kill me when she wakes up.
I went back into the living room and sat between Johnny and Two-Bit on the couch.
"Johnny, you can go to bed if you want. My room is open.", Soda spoke. That was the first that was sad all night. The only movement left in the room was Johnny going to bed and Two-Bit twidling his thumbs.
"Well, we found Pone's shirt sleeve and a p-puddle of b-b-blood. Did any of you guys find clues?", I managed to ask. The silence was getting to me.
Steve sighed, "I found his shoe."
Two-Bit said, "I found his can of Pomade." I guess Darry had enough, because he threw his newspaper and stomped to bed.
"You guys, Pony made headlines, along with Kyrie.", Soda pointed out. We picked up the newspaper and read it.
A couple of Tulsa kids trapped in the Greaser Vs. Soc war, was jumped by some socs. A couple of socs beat Kyrie Winston until she was knocked out cold. The rest kidnapped Ponyboy Curtis and from a letter Mr. Curtis wrote Ms. Winston, planned to kill him. The two questions is "Why did they do it?" and "Where's Ponyboy?". We're all on the search for Ponyboy Curtis. We have one week before we confirm he's death. C'mon people, bring this boy back into Kyrie's arm
"At least the paper's getting more people to help.", Two-Bit said. I got up and went to bed.
*Kyrie's P.O.V*
"Kyrie, I love you.", Pony told me. We were at the park and swing together.
"I love you, too, Pone", I replied.
"Ky, please, always remember I love you. You're my one and only. Robert Frost was wrong when he said 'Nothing gold can stay'. Our love will stay gold. You have nothing to fear, baby.", he said.
"Pony, I can't explain how those words melted my heart.", I responded. He smiled. We both stood up and walked towards each other. His hands were on my waist and my were cupping his face. We began to lean in when all of a sudden, he faded away.
"Pony! Come back! Ponyboy!", I yelled.
I shot up screaming. It seemed so real.
"Is everything ok?". Dally asked, pulling me closer to him. The gang busted, all of them except, Pony.
"No, everything's not ok.", I answered with tears flooding my face. Not too mention it felt like below zero in the house.
"Hey, we'll find him.", Johnny said. I gave him a slight smile.
"Did you have a nightmare?", Two-Bit asked.
"No, yes, kinda. I was at the park with Pony and we were going to kiss and he just faded away.", I answered. Dally was still holding me. Darry stepped in and handed me my medicine. I smiled and took some.
"I think she needs us all now, more than ever.", Soda winked at everyone. He walked over and climbed in the bed. Next, was Johnny. Thank the Lord this was a California King bed. I layed on top of Dally. Johnny seemed like he was right under Dally, Soda had his arm stretched over the three of us, Steve made a pallet on one side of the bed and Darry did the same on the other. As for Two-Bit, he was at the foot of the bed.
"Thanks you guys. Without you, I'd be a nervous wreck.", I thanked. I got back a chorus of "You're Welcomes"
Tomorrow I'm searching high and low for Ponyboy Michael Curtis.
