We walked onto the porch. We glanced into the window and saw Darry and Ponyboy in the living room. I looked back at Soda and he sighed. We stepped in together and I guess we had a negative look.
"What's wrong?", Darry asked. I looked at Soda.
"Let me guess, after I left the party, Kyrie cried and Soda comfortered her and they ended up hooking up all over again and now they wanna tell us. It's cool, my train leaves in the morning.", Pony guessed, angry.
Tears filled my eyes and I threw the nearest object at him. "THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED! SODA IS LEAVING IN TWO WEEKS TO VEITNAM! WE DIDN'T HOOK UP! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE SERIOUSLY LEAVING ME BECAUSE I'M NOT READY TO GET MARRIED SO SOON!"
"Y-you're leaving?", Darry asked Soda. Soda nodded.
"Kyrie, I'm sorry. I was just mad. Please, I'll miss the train.", Ponyboy begged.
"No, no Ponyboy. Go back to New York. Maybe that's where you belong. It was bound to happen someday. Go and become a writer, marry that girl, and have babies.", I insisted.
"But I don't want to. Kyrie, I honestly want to stay here with you, marry you, have babies with you, and become a writer here.", he pleaded.
"Then why'd you buy the ticket?", I asked.
"I was angry at the time.", he answered.
I sighed, "Look, I'm going back to Buck's and going to bed. We'll talk later. I have had the worst birthday and ontop of that my best friends are being deployed. I'm done with today." With that I hugged Soda and left.
The party had been over about an hour when I got there. Dally, Buck, Two-Bit, Steve and a couple of girls were in the living room. One blonde was on Dally's lap.
"Sorry I killed the party.", I apologized.
"It's cool. Soda tell you?", Steve asked. I nodded.
"Tell you what?", Dally asked. I looked at Steve, then back at Dally.
"Steve and Soda are being sent to Veitnam.", I answered. It was dead silent. Two-Bit cried. Probably because he was both drunk and best friends with Soda and Steve.
"Man, that sucks. Ey, where's Johnnycakes? He know?", Dally asked.
"He went home. I'll tell him tomorrow.", Steve answered.
I sighed, "I'm headed to bed. Thanks for trying to my birthday special. Night." I walked up the steps to Dally's room. I stripped out of the dress and into some of Dal's sweats and t-shirts. I crawled into bed and began crying. Finally, I went to sleep.
Kyrie's Dream (;
"I can't believe you and Soda is engaged.", Johnny said.
"Yeah, I can't either.", I agreed.
"You know, everyone thought it would be you and Pony. Then the incident happened.", Johnny said. I sighed and went to bed. I laid there and thought about my wedding day. Suddenly, the door opened and revealed my fiancé.
"Hey baby.", I greeted. He crawled into bed beside me.
"Hey darling.", he replied. He kissed me on my cheek. He moved down and kisses my jaw and neck. My hands slowly slide up his shirt. He helps me pry it off and toss it to the side.
I woke up before things got heated. I don't know where this came from.
I looked over and saw no Dally, but a note from him.
Kye,
Meet me at the Curtis House.
-DalI sighed and got ready. When I walked in, Dally and Soda were on the couch. Darry was in his chair, and Two was in the floor. Steve was stuffing his face, Johnny was at home, and Pony must've been in his room.
"Kyrie, stop being stuborn.", Dallas said.
"With what?", I asked.
"Go to him. You and Soda were meant to be friends. You and Pony were meant to be together.", Darry butted in.
My attention turned to Soda. He looked at me with his warm, caring eyes and agreed.
I walked into Pony's room and saw him sitting on his bed, facing the wall.
"Pone?", I called. He had no response, but seemed like he was crying.
"I never really bought a ticket. I went to, but when it was my turn I chickened out, because I don't want to lose you. Looks like I did, anyways.", he responded, sobbing. I walked and sat beside him.
"No you didn't. I'm still here. I need you, Ponyboy. I love you and I want to marry you.", I said. That dream had me thinking. I don't want to be with Soda, I want to be with Ponyboy.
"Don't say that just because you feel bad, I don't want to pressure you.", he said.
"Ponyboy Michael Curtis, I love you and I want to be your bride. We're both eighteen. Its legal. Let's get married.", I offered.
He leaned over and kissed me gently. When we released, our foreheads were touching.
"God, I love the way your lips feel.", he said. I giggled.
"I love you so much, Kyrie."
"I love you, too.", I replied.
