Together Again

Chapter 10

Hayes' POV

I walk closer to the surface as I watch Kat and Nash walk off together God Hayes what have you done this time, and to Kat? Your best friend and soon to be girlfriend? Well forget that, I say to myself as I sit down putting my elbows on my knees and cover my face with my hands

"Why me? Why did we have to see Jamie?" I say still to myself but out loud this time

"Hey bro are you okay?" Jack says to me as I look up to see him hovering above me

"Yeah" I say with my voice starting to crack, I wasn't going to cry but I wouldn't be surprised if I did, me and Kat never fight, except for the last time Jamie was involved, if we don't speak for a whole week again I don't know what I will do, what if she chooses to never speak to me again? The four years I was without her was the worst four years of my life, I cant let that happen again

"You wanna play soccer with us? We are playing a little friendly game on the beach but we need another player to make it two vs two" I look at him confused and he laughs

"Oh yeah, my dad wants to play" he says laughing and I join in

"Sure, lets go play" I tell him before I get up and we run up to where the others are waiting to play

"You ready?" Kai asks as he grabs the ball and stands in the middle of the mini 'pitch' they set up

"What are the teams?" I ask and Jack speaks up

"Kai and Hayes vs Me and Dad?" we all nod in approval and start the game

- AFTER THE GAME -

"WE TOATALLY WON!" Kai yells out even though we lost, Jack did cheat a couple of times though

"Sorry buddy, you didn't" Jack says as me and their dad just laugh at their little argument

"Lets start packing up" My mum says

We all walk over to help when I notice it has started to get dark and Nash and Kat weren't back yet, I started to panic when I saw Nash in the distance walking towards us with Kat trailing not very far behind

"Hey your back, we were just about to send a search party out to look for you guys" her dad says in a joking fashion attempting to get a laugh out of us, Kat then starts laughing because of how silly the joke was and everyone joined in

"Come on, lets go" her mum says grabbing her dads arm and dragging him along towards the car

"Katherine are you coming back with us honey?" I hear my mum say and I look at Kat and watch as she shakes he head

"Nah, I think i'll go back with my family, Nash said we could swap back" Kat looks over at me and I drop my head, what have I done

"No Kat please come with us" I look up to see Sky hugging Kat's leg and hope Sky can change her mind

"Next time I promise" she says to Skylynn picking her up in hug, she said her goodbyes to everyone avoiding me as much as she could at that time I also said my goodbyes and with that we all got into our cars and took off

"Hayes why would you get with Jamie after what happened?" Nash asks me as soon as we start driving

"Dude, I didn't even know it was her until towards the end of our relationship, she looks so different and she never told me her last name, its also on none of her social medias, I found out after I went over to her house and recognised her mum, and thats when I tried to get her to break up with me because I remembered how clingy she was and knew she wouldn't listen if I broke up with her, once she finally broke up with me I thought it was over until the day before I met Kat again she messaged me and I deleted it straight away not bothering to read it, I never knew any of this would happen" I say trying to explain it to my brother as simple as possible but it was hard
