Chapter 21

Katherine's POV

"Hey Kat, can we talk" Jack calls out from behind me and I stop and wait for him to catch up

"Yeah, what's up" I say no emotion showing in my voice

"Stop for a second" He says and we both walk and wait for the others to walk a bit further ahead

"So what did the message say" Jack says one they are far enough away

"It said, 'well that was a thrilling experience, but maybe let your "boyfriend" help next time, he looked really depressed and I don't like the way you're hurting my baby' and now I think I have an idea of who it might be" I say and Jack looks at me showing he wanted me to continue

"I think it's Amanda, she is obsessed with Hayes" I say looking down but catch a glimpse of Jack shaking his head

"Who is she" He says after a minute or two

"Amanda... The one who was my friend in year seven... Her and Hayes had a thing but she thinks they still do even though he has rejected her so many times" I say and watch Jack tense up

"THAT Amanda... She is gone when I see her, she better PRAY that I never run into her" He says with and angry tone clearly present in his voice

"Jack calm down, you can't do anything, she is a girl, and she's younger than you too" I say and Jack shakes his head again

"I know Kat, but she can't do these things"

"We don't even know if it's actually her, there is just heaps of signs pointing towards her I guess" I say and Jack stops walking causing me to stop

"Kat, I promise, we will get the person, I just wish I could tell one of the boys at least because then I could have help" Jack says and I shrug

"Well Peter knows something's up, he was asking me if I was okay and he was asking me to talk to him, but I just can't put another life in danger, especially Peter, Nash or Hayes, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if something happened to them" I say and Jack frowns

"I know Kat, I know" He says as we start to walk again picking up the pace to catch up to the others

Jack walks beside Nash and Peter with Hayes a little bit ahead of the three and me trailing not far behind, I notice the boys whispering things to Jack which are probably about me but I see him tell them not to worry, I'll thank him later

"So when are we going to be at my 'surprise'?" I ask because my legs were beginning to hurt

"We are almost there don't worry" Nash says and I sigh

We continue to walk in our same formation with the three boys talking and Hayes and I walking alone, My eyes wander around the city and land on a girl and a guy turning a corner and a guy on a wheelchair scooter speeding around the other side, oh no, this is going to end bad

"AHHH" I hear the girl scream as the guy on the wheelchair scooter crashes into her causing her to fall over

"Watch where you're going!" I here him yell back at her and I run over to her to see if she is okay, her head is down studying her shin as she holds it with her two hands and winces in pain as the boy is touching it to find out where it hurts

"Oh my god, are you guys okay?" I say as they both look up and all three of our eyes go wide

"Kat?!" The girl says

"Jordan, Brad, what are you guys doing here?!" I scream at them

"We were just having a day in the city when that ridiculous guy comes speeding around the corner and almost kills me" Jordan says and I laugh
