September 8
Today was the first day of school. It wasn't so bad. I made the bus and sat in front, right next to the door. I think the busdriver would do something if something happened. I mean, it's part of his job, right? Anyway, nothing happened, except that everyone was huge. I must of been one of the smallest kids on the bus. Probably one of the smallest in the school. And as a 6th grader, I'm already at the bottom of the food chain.
We have a different teacher for every subject in Middle School. All that moving around I guess was confusing—well, not for me. There were a few new kids, but not many. I mostly tried to avoid everyone. Most kids it seems were trying to figure things out, so they mostly didn't bother with me. I got a few smirks from some of the boys from the ice cream shop. Henry pinched me when he first saw me, and my hip is still purple there now. His smirk hurt more though.
