Chapter 13 (Silver POV)
Finally Friday rolled around. Silver had been looking forward to the dinner with Maika all week, well, since he asked her. She was on top of the world when she and Damon were walking across the quad after school.
“Yo Silver, why you so happy?” Damon asked as they neared the fountain. Silver smiled, Maika was picking her up in two hours.
“Oh, I’m just excited for tonight.” She said nonchalantly.
“You mean for my lacrosse practice right?” Damon asked.
“Um, no, I’m going to Regressi’s with a friend tonight.” Silver smiled again, thinking of Maika.
“No you’re not.” Damon said, hard as stone.
“Excuse me?” she asked, taken aback.
“I’ve got lacrosse tonight. You’re coming. End of story.” He commanded.
“No I’m not Damon; I’m going to Regressi’s. We’ve had this planned since Monday.”
“Fine bitch, don’t support me.”
“Damon you don’t control my life, I can do what I want.”
“I can when it comes to who you’re going out with.”
“You know I wouldn’t do anything! Even if I was going out with a guy!” Damon didn’t have to know she was going with Maika.
“Oh really? Cause word has it that you’re getting pretty close with that transfer kid, Mike or Mick or something.” He accused.
“It’s Maika” Silver growled.
“See, exactly! You’re standing up for him now.”
“Damon you’re being stupid.”
“Am I? As if you aren’t giving me a reason.”
“Yes, you are”
“Whatever bitch, go hook-up with whoever, I won’t give a shit.”
Silver sighed. “Damon, what would you do if I came into you’re room, late at night, crying because I was scared?”
“Why would you come to me?”
Damon answered all of her questions in one.
“Because you’re my boyfriend, you’re supposed to care if I’m hurt or crying.” Silver said coldly.
“You know I care babe…” Damon reached to put and arm around her shoulders. She knocked his arm away.
“No Damon, you really don’t care about me. You call me bitch, slut, whore, stupid, useless, lazy, pathetic, ugly, and many more names I don’t even want to repeat. You could give a shit if I’m hurting, inside or out. You tell me what to do like today or a couple weeks ago. ‘We’re gunna go see some gun-filled movie where people fsu.’ Did you not say that to me? Don’t even try to tell me you didn’t. See Damon, I just don’t want to be with you anymore. I found someone who cares. When he found me crying, he talked to me, made me feel better. He’s been nothing but caring and sweet since we met. He is respectful, will listen to anything I need to talk about and honestly Damon, I’ve got no where to go but up.” Silver said, er, half-screamed.
“Oh no, you don’t break up with me. I break up with you when I want to.” Damon came dangerously close.
“Damon, I don’t want to be with you. I want someone else.” Silver stood her ground. People across the quad had stopped whatever they were doing to listen, but at the moment she didn’t care.
