Chapter 32 (Silver POV)
The day before prom, a much anticipated day in anyone’s life, what do you do? Woodward’s answer was the senior beach party. Every year before prom all of the seniors throw a beach party on the beach at the party spot. There are raft races, cannonballs off of one of the rocks, and at night a bonfire.
Silver stood in front of her mirror, looking at her reflection. This was the first time Maika would see her in a bikini, and she was nervous.
“S, don’t worry, you look amazing in anything” Damien said while picking through her drawers.
“Aw Dam…”
“Here” Damien tossed her a suit. It was a black top with a faded rainbow bottom that tied on the sides. Silver quickly slipped into the suit. Damien was right, as always, but her bruises showed. The ones on her face were mostly gone but her body was a different story. Some parts of her arms were still black and blue along with her stomach and legs.
“Wow, that friend got you bad S” Damien said.
“Yea…” she examined a long, skinny bruise across her stomach.
“This was a pool stick.”
“Oh…” Damien looked away and pulled out a light weight, white cover-up dress.
“Yes… no?”
“Definitely” Silver smiled and slipped into it. She grabbed her aviators and looped her arm through Damien’s. “Come on, Maika and Spark are probably waiting.”
When she stepped onto the sand, Silver took a deep breath. ‘You can do this’ she thought. She spotted Maika out on tubes with Grayson. The river was almost stagnant, making it like a lake. Silver watched him laugh and Grayson tip him over, and he came up laughing. Suddenly he saw her. Maika said his good-bye to Grayson, who called “Whipped” after him, then paddled up to Silver.
As he climbed out of the water she noticed how perfect he is. Maika had a clearly defined six-pack, not disgustingly ripped but deliciously toned muscles, and his deep brown eyes sparkled in the sunlight.
“Hey beautiful” he said, and then shook his hair out, on Silver.
“Stupid dog” she rolled her eyes under her sunglasses.
“Wolf” Maika corrected playfully. Just joking around with Maika made her self conscious disappear completely. She let the cover up fall off of her body, and onto the sand.
“May be a wolf but still looks like a dog” she smirked.
Maika snapped out of staring at her and said “You are going to pay for that.” He ran towards her, picked her up, and walked towards the water.
“Maika, you wouldn’t” Silver glared at him.
“After that insulting comment I think I would” he smirked adorably.
“Maika…”
Suddenly he tossed her into the water. Silver resurfaced quickly.
“Maika!” she yelled. Maika laughed, then ran in and flopped beside her. “You are such a meanie” she dunked him.
“You know you love me” he smirked when his wet head resurfaced.
“Sadly I do.”
Suddenly Damien popped up in front of Silver. “Boo!” he yelled and Silver screamed, practically jumping out of the water.
“Damien Port!” she yelled, smacking him on the head. Maika and Spark were trying to conceal their laughs.
“You guys suck” she pouted.
