Chapter 28 (Silver POV)

“Silver, can I ask you a question?” Spark asked as they were sitting on the edge of the fountain. A warm, late-April breeze blew her hair back slightly. It was just her and Spark on the edge of the fountain; Maika and Damien were off doing something.

“Yea, sure Spark” she replied.

“Um, how should I ask Damien to prom? Cause I wanna do it right” Spark said nervously.

Silver remembered when Maika asked her, she’d thought he was proposing. She smiled at the memory.

“Do something unique, Damien’s huge into originality, and make it sweet, not over done” Silver said.

“So should I ask him using his own weird language?” Spark asked.

“No, try typing it out on his calculator or spelling it out in Mike n’ Ikes in his room” she suggested.

“Damien’s favorite candy! I like that one, but the calculator one is so dorky-cute you know?” Spark’s face lit up. Silver could practically see the wheels turning in his head.

“How’d Maika ask you?” he asked her.

“Well he ran down to the Bridge of Queens, got down on one knee, and gave me this necklace.” Silver showed him the moonstone necklace that rarely left her neck.

“Wow, that guy is a hopeless romantic, too bad he’s not gay…” he smirked a little and Silver smacked him on the head lightly.

“Sorry Spark, he’s still mine. Are you and Dam coordinating tuxes?”

“Of course, how’d dress shopping go?” She and Damien had gone dress shopping over the weekend.

“Oh, I found the perfect dress” Silver smiled. It was a silver dress, strapless, and actually very plain. The dress was slightly metallic, but it offset the auburn in her hair and brought her stormy-sea colored eyes.

“Ok, whatever scheming you guys are doing I command you to stop!” Damien yelled and ran over, Maika trailing a bit behind.

“Now Damien, why would you just assume I’m up to something?” Silver asked as Spark blushed.

“Because my boyfriend is as red as a tomato” Damien stated, then added

“An adorable tomato at that…”

“Hey Damien, do you wanna go out to dinner tonight?” Spark asked suddenly.

“Of course! Where to?” Damien exclaimed.

“Anywhere’s good” Spark jumped up, threw Silver a quick ‘thank you’ glance, and followed Damien.

“It’s like seven, isn’t it a bit late for dinner?” Maika commented, when they were gone.

“Spark’s going to ask Damien to prom tonight” she explained and patted the now vacant seat next to her.

“Ohh got it” Maika sat down. Silver laid her head on his shoulder.

“Good for them” he said. A P.E.A. agent walked across the quad, not sparing them even a glance.

“They seem to be multiplying” Silver said worriedly.

“The full moons’ tonight, of course they would be” Maika sighed.

“Ok… I’ve promised to tell you everything so…” Maika started but she interrupted.

“Do they suspect anything? I’ll tell them another lie…” she lifted her head off of his shoulder with a worried expression in her face.

“No, you don’t need to do that. It’s just… I’m running low on moonstone, and I don’t know if I have enough not to change tonight” he said.
