Chapter 36

Chapter 36 (Silver POV)

“Silver! Silver!” Damien pulled her away from Damon.

“What? Where’s Maika?” she asked. Damien pulled her to the edge of the party.

“Damien, what’s going on?” Silver asked, anxiety rising.

“He told me to tell you that your life is worth a million of his. Maika also said that he’d always love you and good-bye. He didn’t leave on his own terms” Damien said.

“What!? He’s gone?” Silver exclaimed.

“Yea he left with those guys in black.”

“Did he say anything else?”

“Oh yea… something about a, um, lab?” Realization dawned in Silver’s eyes. Maika didn’t leave her, the P.E.A took him. The time in the janitor’s closet flashed before her eyes. “If they take you, which they won’t, I swear I’ll come for you” her own words echoed in her head. “Damien let’s go.”

“What? Where?” he asked, very confused.

“I’ll explain on the way” Silver took Damien’s hand and ran towards the parking lot. She was going to do whatever it took to have him in her arms again. Silver jumped into her Jetta and peeled out of the parking lot.

“Silver will you tell me what the hell is going on!” Damien yelled as sped away from Woodward.

“Do you want the short version or the long version?” Silver gripped the steering wheel hard.

“How about the truth version?”

“Ok did Maika say I could explain?”

 “Yes.”

“Ok then for starters Maika didn’t leave, he was taken by the P.E.A…” she started but Damien interrupted.

“The endangered animal people?”

“No, they’re actually the paranormal elimination agency…”

“What does that have to do with Maika? Is he a ghost or something?” Damien asked.

“No, he’s a werewolf” Silver said.

“What? No… are you crazy? Did Damon drug you or something? Should you be driving in this condition?” Damien was in denial.

“No I’m really not. Remember when we broke up for a week in December? That was when I found out” Silver shuttered. She’d been so cruel to him.

“Oh so my roommate is a werewolf…”

“Yes.”

“And he was kidnapped by some agency…”

“Yes.”

“So what are they going to do?”

“Damien, they’re paranormal eliminators. Maika is the paranormalcy.” Tears welled up in her eyes as she said; “They’re going to kill him. A stunned silence enveloped the car. 

“Kill… Maika?” Damien asked quietly.

Silver nodded, unable to speak.

“So, how are we going to save him? Damien asked, completely changed. His face was a mask of determination to save his friend.

“We’re going to the P.E.A.’s lab.”

“How do you know where that is?”

“Remember when I went missing? Well the P.E.A. took me, thinking I was the werewolf. They tortured me, and locked me in a cell, probably the same cell they are throwing Maika into now. That’s why I had the bruises and that’s why I lied bout it.” Silver’s mind flashed through her imprisonment in the lab.
