Spencer's Pov:

"Life's like an hourglass glued to the table." -Breathe (2 am)

"Reid?" Morgan asked tapping my shoulder lightly, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Uh sorry. What was that?" I asked looking at Garcia and Morgan who stood before me.

"We're gonna get some coffee want to come with?" Garcia asked kindly.

"I think I should wait here, in case the doctor or any news comes."

"Right." She said nodding

"Well do want coffee or anything while we're down there?" Morgan suggested.

"I think I'm okay, thank you though."

"Reid come on. When's the last time you've eaten or drank anything?" Garcia asked

"I'm not hungry."

"You have to b-"

"I can't and won't eat or sleep until I know she's okay." I snapped making her face pale a little bit.

"Reid I know this is hard or you like it is on all of us right now. But you can't keep snapping at us like this. We want to be here for you, and we're not leaving you alone." Morgan said, trying to make the situation better, but I just stared at the white tiled floor.

"Derek lets just give him some space." Garcia said grabbing Morgan's arm.

"We'll bring you back a decaf." Morgan said as he walked away angrily.

Before I could respond, they were already headed down the hallway.

I looked around the waiting room at other people who were here. Who had just heard me snap at my two friends.

No one here seemed to have even been listening so that was a good thing.

There was only five other people here, and no one was near one another besides a mother and son.

The boy was four or five, and asleep on his mothers lap, when I looked up at the mother her eyes were bloodshot and puffy like she's been crying.

I didn't want to stare, because it's rude, but I couldn't help and wonder why everyone in this room was here. Who they were waiting for.

"Where's Garcia and Morgan?" Rossi's voice asked making me look look up at him.

"They uh-" I paused needing to think for a moment about where they went.
"To go get coffee."

He nodded and then sat down next to me.

"So where's Blake and Hotch?" I asked breaking the small silence.

"Long story."

"What happened with Emily?"

"Again, long story."

"Apparently I've got time."

He looked at me and managed a small laugh.

"Reid, I don't think I've ever seen you this worried."

"She told me she loved me, after all these years. After everything we've been through I just thought I should give up on trying to be with her I mean she was married and even had a son. But then she told me she loved me."

"When I first joined the bureau I thought that you two were so much alike-in a cute way." He said making me smile a little but.

"Really?" I asked not being able to control the happiness in my voice.

"Yeah, but then again I did think Garcia and Hotch were dating for a while-so I guess I wasn't exactly onto a good start then."

I couldn't help but laugh a little.

"You seriously thought that they were dating? Hotch was married."

"Yeah, I eventually learned that, sure I've known Hotch for years, but he's a very unpredictable man."

"That is true. I mean who would've thought he risked his career-everything he's worked for just for him and Emily to be together."

"I think that no matter what, true love always finds a way to be." He stood up from the hospital chair and gave me a small smile.
"Always." He said once again as he patted my shoulder lightly and walked off down the hall where Garcia and Morgan went down.

"Always?" I asked quietly to myself.

Was he right?

Maybe he was.

"Jennifer Jareau?" A soft voice asked, I immediately stood up.

"That's me." I said waving over the doctor, realizing that I was going to have to inform everyone else when they got back.

"Her wounds were critical, she had many different types of drugs in her system, and there were many touch and go situations in there. But, we were able to stabilize her."

"So what your saying is she's okay?" I asked as my voice cracked.

"I wouldn't use the word okay. But yes, she is alive, she's sleeping right now, and will need her rest but you can go see her in the morning."

"Thank you so much." I said as I expected the doctor to walk away but she stayed longer.

"I'm assuming your here for Kate Callahan too?"

I paused and then nodded.

"She also is in recovery, it looks like your one of the lucky people today." She said with a small warm smile as she walked away.

Lucky.

She was alive.

She was alive.

I couldn't believe it.

Jennifer was actually alive.

I guess I should've known that she would make it out of this, but there was no possible way of knowing for sure.

And now I did.

I was going to get a chance to tell her.
