Tori had met me outside of my house, since I lived on the way to school.

"So... he's pretty cute."

I stuck my tongue out and scrunched up my face. "Don't make me throw up my breakfast."

Tori giggled in response. "Ollie, you said he yourself he was hot."

When he saw my face, he smirked.

"Didn't you crash into me?"

"Don't you need to get a ball?" I shot back.

"Who is at the door?" mom asked.

I looked over my shoulder and saw her standing in the doorway with a towel, drying her hands.

"Uh..." I began.

"I'm Holden, and this is my sister, Amy. We moved in last week."

"What can we do for you, Holden?"

"We were playing in the street and I accidentally threw the ball too high and it went over the fence. We were just asking your daughter if we could get it."

My mom shot me a look. "I hope she was welcoming."

Holden smirked as I glared at him.

"Yeah, she was about to invite us in."

A small voice piped up.

"No she wasn't, Holdie. You know it isn't nice to lie."

Holden winced.

"No, it's okay," I said, "Holdie, why don't you come in?"

He glared at me.

We turned around when we heard a honk. Holden was behind us, smiling brilliantly in his car- the same car I had run into.

I almost melted, but I kept myself cool.

"Hi!" Tori chirped.

I looked at her incredulously.

"What," she asked, "You aren't talking to him so I can't either?"

"Yes!"

Tori rolled her eyes and held out her hand for Holden to shake.

"I'm Victoria, but you can call me Tori."

He smiled at her.

"Holden. So Tori and..."

"Oh, this is-"

"No!" I shouted. Tori gave me a weird look.

"I don't want him knowing my name."

Holden drove until he was next to us.

"See, babe, I'll just find out your name later."

I scowled.

"Don't call me babe. Tori, let's go."

She squealed and walked faster with me. As we walked to school, Holden kept up. Which is kind of creepy.

I could not wait until school started. I could lose him in school and never have to see him again. Maybe I'll get lucky and he won't be in any of my classes. Or the same grade.
