That’s what Ollie is wearing, sin los gafas. (Minus the sunglasses.)
As I started to get ready for the date Holden had planned, I could hear clinking against my window. I looked over and saw pebbles being thrown at them. I walked over and saw Holden, who stopped throwing when he saw me. He waved as I opened the window.
“You know we have a front door, right?” I asked.
Holden smiled. “Yes. Be ready by six thirty, okay?”
“Okay, Holden. Now stop trying to break my window and let me get dressed.”
I closed the window and after taking a shower, pulled on a strapless, flowery layered dress. Since it was getting chilly outside, I put on a leather jacket. Just as I had finished putting on lip gloss, the bell rang.
“Olive, it’s for you!” Mom called.
“Okay, be right there!” I said, putting on a ring and running out of my room.
Holden was waiting in the hallway by the door, being stared at by Tray who was sitting on the stairs. As I passed him, I hit him on the back of the head, making him pull my hair.
“Yo, Tray, come at me,” I said, using my tough guy voice. We put our fists up and pretended to fight until Holden pulled me away.
“Tray, I’m going to need Ollie unscathed. Maybe next time,” he said. We walked through the front door and Holden led me down the street.
As he handed me another rose, I said, “Holden, I think we should take this time to learn more about each other. Like… you should know that I hate flowers.”
Holden looked like he was about to pass out. “Really?”
I nodded. “They all smell like dirt to me and I think that they’re overrated.”
Holden put his hands in his pockets and smiled sheepishly. “So the flower I gave you earlier today…”
“Didn’t like it, nope.”
An awkward silence settled after that.
“So…” Holden said, glancing at me, “Is there anything you want to know about me?”
“How about we play twenty questions? That way we can get to know each other on our way to… wherever we’re going.”
Holden smiled and said, “Okay. So what’s your first question?”
“What’s your favorite color?”
“Yellow.”
I cringed. “Oh no, this won’t work out.”
Holden laughed. “What? Why?”
I smiled slightly. “Because yellow is the worst color to ever have been thought of.”
“Well what about the sun?”
“I’m sure the sun could’ve been white and it’d work just fine.”
Holden laughed loudly. “But then it would’ve been massive and it would’ve been hotter. We’d all be dead by now.”
“Oh, and that counts as two questions,” I said.
“What does?”
“When you asked what and why. Which means I get to give you two questions.”
Holden smiled cheekily. “Fire away.”

Holden had walked me into the park and by then I learned that he has an older sister, he rescued his dog from his mean neighbor before he moved here, he hates the color orange and he loves animals.
We walked deeper and deeper into the park, which slightly worried me.
“Are you going to kill me?”
“That’s your nineteenth question. Use your last one wisely,” Holden replied, walking up a small step stone path that led to weeping willows.
“You didn’t answer my question,” I said.
Holden turned around and held out his hand. “Not today.”
I smiled in relief before I caught his words. “Not today? What does that mean?”
“Uhp, that’s two questions. You are over your limit.”
“Are you going to kill me or not?”
“Jeez Ollie, no, of course not! I like you too much to kill you.”
I smiled and followed him into the fortress created by the weeping willows. There was a noise that I immediately heard, and I instantly knew it was a waterfall. Looking around the open space, I saw chairs and Burger King bags.
I laughed. “Burger King? That’s what I had to dress up for?”
“Wait. You’ll see what I had you dress up for,” Holden said, leading me past the weeping willows. As we passed through the hanging branches, the sound of rushing water became more distinct.
Walking a little farther towards the waterfall, I could see the sun beginning to set and a rainbow was formed by the water. We walked until we reached the stones that separated the grass from the pool of water. I gazed at the way the sun set behind the waterfall and the rainbow.
“I wish I had my camera,” I whispered. I turned to Holden and smiled, but I noticed that he was staring at me intently.
“Yes?” I asked.
Holden stepped closer to me and took a deep breathe. “I have one last question to ask you,” he said.
“Shoot.”
Holden smiled slightly. “Can I kiss you?”
I looked to the side and bit my lip. “If it will help you make me like you,” I replied.
Holden smiled and leaned in, kissing me softly.
When we pulled away, his eyes were still closed.
“I’ve been waiting to give you a proper kiss since forever.”

I would like to ask a question: If you are following this story, did you fan? Why haven’t you fanned?! Fan!
I would love you if you did.
I was flashed by my neighbor. He’s hairy and fat. It wasn’t pleasant. I was outside putting the trash on the curb (because my brother is too lazy) and his wife or whoever she is to him was playing loud tacky 70’s music. He yelled, “Ow!” not in pain, but like… I dunno, joy? Like how Steven Tyler or a rocker might yell. So I looked over and he lifted up his shirt. So I told him, “I’m a minor and that’s sexual harassment. Congratulations, I can have you arrested.”
He didn’t do it again. I’ll punch him in the face next time he does. I’ve never even seen him before.
