Note: In an effort to move the story along and not have any boring moments, I’m going to move past Thanksgiving and go to Christmas time (they already had Halloween). If you wish for me to write a Thanksgiving chapter, I will be glad to. Just say so in the comments or message me about it.
Also, this chapter is EXPLOSIVE, lol. Look at all those fucking pages. Look. All of that is for you.
I was walking through the town while it began to snow. I had on my hat and heavy coat to protect myself from the harsh winds. I was walking from Tori’s house to Holden’s house. We had gotten closer during these last few weeks.
I knocked on the door and it opened to reveal Amy, who was sucking on a lollipop.
“Hi, Ollie,” she said. “Holden is getting dressed.”
“Okay, do you want to wait with me?”
Amy nodded. She pulled my hand and led me inside to the living room, where a video game about the Disney princesses was on the screen. She handed me a remote and began playing without giving me any instructions.
I soon got the hang of it and we started laughing as we both got points and ugly characters on the screen were squashed. I heard footsteps pounding down the stairs and Holden soon came into view, rubbing his hair with a towel.
“Hey Amy, I’m going to steal Ollie, okay?”
Amy nodded and continued playing as I put the controller down and followed Holden back upstairs to his room. Music was coming from his room and I had no idea who it was.
“When you hear this chorus, do you miss the way the world was spinning for us? Do you hurt the way that I do after all this time?”
“Who is that?” I asked.
“Who,” Holden said, opening his door, “Them?”
I nodded. Holden gasped, “You’ve never heard this song before?” I shook my head. Holden went to his iPod and chose another song. As it came through his speakers, he said, “This is one of their songs that they used to attract more fans. Have you heard of this one?”
“This place is not quite what it seems or anything that I was told it’d be. New York, you know you make my heart skip. In my dreams I make it into Vegas.”
I shook my head. Holden threw his hands in the air. “What? That right there, my good friend, is Mayday Parade.”
“Never heard of them.” I spotted a guitar in the corner of his room and went to it and began tuning it.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m going to play you a song from someone that I listen to.” I said. I began strumming the strings and sang.
“Your eyes are blue like the ocean and baby I’m lost out at sea. I’ve been trying to ask you but I can’t seem to speak. Was it love at first sight cause I walked by last week.”
I continued to the chorus and when I ended, Holden cheered. When he stopped, he said, “I cheered because you finished; that song was crap. Your voice wasn’t though.”
I gasped. “You’re crap! Don’t insult Stephan Jerzak like that!”
“That’s the guy’s name? Stephan Jerzak? Sounds like a tool.”
“Well he isn’t! He’s wonderful, and gorgeous, and has the nicest blue eyes.”
Holden sat on his bed. “Well my eyes are blue, too.”
I laughed. “Someone jealous?”
Holden looked away. “No.”
I giggled. “It’s okay, because I don’t have a chance with Stephan Jerzak. I have a chance with you,” I said, and kissed his cheek.
