Friday came way too fast.
All day during school, Holden bothered me. He kept reminding me how he was going to be at my house and how he’d be in my room. I almost punched him in the face when he winked at me.
During the week, him and Tray had become best friends and Holden was always at our house.
Tori was helping me bring the Wii and Xbox into my room for the sleepover, which Holden had been invited to against my will.
"Ollie, am I gonna have this stuff back tomorrow?"
I rolled my eyes and put my hand on his head, steering him out of my room. "Yes, young Nicholas. Now go and fetch us some treats."
He swatted my hand and mumbled, "I'm not your servant... get your own treats."Tray ran into my room and bounced on my bed.
“Travis! Get off the bed, now!” mom yelled. She’s like Jesus sometimes.
He got off and turned on the television, which hadn’t been set up correctly so a loud screeching sound erupted. The three of us fell on the floor holding our ears when Nick came in, turning off the t.v.
“You are all so stupid!” he exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air.
I glared at Tray, who was still on the floor. “You’re the stupid one, Tray,” I muttered, fixing the cables, “I don’t know why Nick called me stupid.”
The doorbell rang soon after, and I went to open the door. I saw Amy first.
“Hi, I’m here for the sleepover!” she chirped.
I raised an eyebrow. “Are you here alone?”
Holden walked up behind her, out of breathe holding a bag. “Amy, you can’t… you can’t…”
He stopped to bend down on rest on his knees and catch his breath.
He took a deep breath then stood straight. “You can’t let Rocky get out of the backyard. I had to chase him down for a million blocks.”
Amy’s little eyes widened. “A million blocks?” she asked in astonishment.
Holden nodded. This made Amy smile. She tugged my hand and said, “My brother is like Superman. He ran a million blocks!”
I smiled at her. “I’m sure he is like Superman.”
“Who’s the little girl?” Tray asked from behind me.
“I’m Amy!”
“Whoa! Hey, Amy! I’m Tray!”
Holden took Amy’s hand and said, “She has to come with me. My parents aren’t home, but they’ll pick her up in two hours. She’ll be asleep in half an hour.”
Amy pouted. “No I won’t! I’m six now!”
Holden sighed, “We’ll see.”

We sat on the couch in the living room, watching Caillou. Amy was asleep on my shoulder and the rest of us were bored. Except for Tori. She was singing along with the theme song.
“Holden?” My mom called, coming into the room, “When are your parents coming for the little one?”
“Uh…” he checked his phone and said, “In ten minutes. They’re on their way.”
“Okay, well, you four go on upstairs. I’ll watch Amy.”
I got up slowly and led everyone to my room.
