Chapter 4: Descent into Darkness

Dipsy resisted the urge to get emotional after Laa-Laa returned. Though he pretended to be nonchalant and cynical, he cared deeply for his fellow teletubbies, especially Laa-Laa.
But now Laa-Laa led the teletubbies through the now dark Tubbytronic Superdome, near the west entrance. She still hadn't told any of them what was going on, and Dipsy was starting to get annoyed.
"Where in the world are we going, Laa-Laa?" Dipsy piped up, exasperated.
"You'll see, just come on," exclaimed Laa-Laa, walking at a brisk and urgent pace.
All of a sudden she stopped in front of a wall.
"What's going on?" asked Po curiously.
I know what's going on, Laa-Laa's gone batty, Dipsy wanted to say aloud.
In answer, Laa-Laa put her yellow hand down on a particular spot of the wall, it sunk in, like a button and the other teletubbies watched, astounded.
"Brace yourselves, the-" Laa-Laa warned before the floor dropped out beneath the teletubbies. Dipsy felt himself plunge into the darkness beneath him, his stomach rising to his throat. He let out a startled scream as his round bottom hit something hard. He got up and rubbed his sore bottom as the others landed beside him. They all stood and looked around the room in awe. Ancient runes covered every inch of the cavern, most looked centuries old.
"This was underneath the Tubbytronic Superdome?" asked Tinky-Winky quizzically.
"I guess so," replied Laa-Laa, "But there's something you all really need to see."
She grabbed the torch off the wall and crossed to the center of the room, shining the light of the torch of one of the drawings.
Dipsy, Tinky-Winky and Po took in a collective gasp.
A drawing that looked ages old decorated the central section of the wall. It depicted the four teletubbies, their hands in the air and the baby sun above in the sky, symbols coming from his mouth.
"What in all of great Teltetubbyland?" whispered Dipsy.

A/N: Pretty spoopy huh? What does the sun baby have to do with all of this? You'll find out soon enough. Sorry again for a short chapter, the next one will hopefully be longer.
