Chapter 1: Laa-Laa's Discovery

Laa-Laa

That day was an ordinary, routine, run of the mill day for the teletubbies. But that night everything would change.

Laa-Laa couldn't sleep. She was tucked in bed, under her comfortable sheets but a storm raged outside the window of the Tubbytronic Superdome. With a start, Laa-Laa realized she had left her big orange bouncy ball outside.

Oh no! she thought to herself, What if it blows away!

She scrambled out of bed, tossing the covers off. Laa-Laa tiptoed from the room, careful not wake her sleeping friends. She slipped out the door and into the hall, where everything was dark.

Laa-Laa stopped for a moment, hesitating because she had never gone out of bed before. When the voice trumpets told her to sleep, she always obeyed, she had never needed to get out of bed.

Surely I won't get in trouble, I just have to get my bouncy ball, she thought to herself and continued sneaking down the hallway, resting her hand on the wall to guide her.

All of a sudden, Laa-Laa felt her hand sink into the wall, as if her hand had pushed a button. Laa-Laa felt the ground beneath her disappear like a door had opened beneath her. Laa-Laa let out a strangled scream of surprise as she felt herself plummeting downward. She covered her eyes, terrified.

"Oh my!" cried Laa-Laa (in teletubby language), when suddenly, Laa-Laa felt her butt hit something hard. "BIBBALYCHEESE!" she cried out in surprise as her butt connected with cool stone. Hesitantly, Laa-Laa got to her little yellow feet and took a look around.

She was in a small stone chamber, dimly lit by a single torch. Slowly, Laa-Laa reached for the torch and swung it in a circle, in order to see her surroundings. She sucked in a breath of air.

Rune like writing lined the walls, some etched in the stone, others written in charcoal. Some were scrawled haphazardly, others were intricate. Laa-Laa slowly brushed her yellow hand over the drawings, gazing in awe at them. That's when one rune caught her attention. Laa-Laa's heart hammered in her chest as she stared at the drawing.

"The others have to see this."
