Chapter 20: Welcome To The Family Charlie

Julia’s POV

I woke up and rolled over. I looked at my handsome fiancé and kissed his cheek. I got up and took a quick shower. I was giving Ronnie a gift today that I knew he would love. I was curling my hair when I felt two strong arms wrap around me. “Morning beautiful.” He said in his husky morning voice. It sent chills down my spine. “Morning handsome.” I said kissing his cheek. He smiled. “So when do I get my surprise?” he asked. “When you get back from hanging out with the guys.” I said. He smiled. “But I want it now.” He said. “Well you will have to wait.” I said. He pouted and went to take a shower. I finished getting ready and went to go make some coffee. Ryan and Ron came bounding through the door and hugged me tightly. “Hey guys, you gonna be able to keep him distracted while I go get the surprise?” I asked them. They nodded. “Derek is already at Jacky’s waiting.” Ryan said. I smiled and thanked them. They knew what I was getting and they were excited. Ronnie came down and put some coffee in a travel mug and gave me a kissed. I waved goodbye and had my breakfast and coffee. I called my friend Tiffany and she said she was waiting for me. I got in my car and drove to her house. She got in and I hugged her. “Are you sure Ronnie would like a dog?” she asked. “Ya, he has always wanted one since he was little.” I said. She smiled and popped in the guys’ CD. We sang obnoxiously loud to the adoption center. Some people flipped us off others sang along. We arrived at the center and got out. We headed inside and a woman led us to all the dogs. All I saw was small dogs. I looked around and then I spotted him. A cute dark gray Pit bull just lying in the corner. I walked over to him. “Be careful miss he came from an abusive home.” The women said. I crouched down in front of him. “Hey little buddy, why you sitting all alone?” I asked. He pouted. “How would you like to come home with me?” I asked. He started wagging his tail and licking my face. I scratched his head and gave him a kiss. “I’ll take him.” I said. She nodded and went to go get the papers. I picked out a simple black color and a blue leash and led him out to the lobby. I signed all the papers and I got his tags. He sat on Tiffany’s lap and gave her tons of kisses. He seemed to like the guys’ music while we drove to the pet store. Tiffany ran around the store with him while I got him some things like a water bowl, food bowl, food, toys and some essentials. I paid for everything and then got them. We headed back to my house and Tiffany took him out in the backyard. She started playing tug of war with him. I texted Jacky for him and the guys to come over. I headed outside and watched Tiffany and my new baby boy. He let go the toy and Tiffany fell back into the pool. I laughed. I thought of names for him and I picked Charlie. “Charlie, come here boy.” I said. He came running over and gave me a big sloppy kiss. I smiled and kissed his head. I heard the door open and I hid Charlie behind a bush. “JULIA!” Ronnie yelled. “Out back.” I said. I looked over at Tiffany and she just took off her shirt and shorts and just swam around. Ryan and Jacky took off their clothes and jumped in the pool with her. “So where’s my is surprise?” he asked. “CHARLIE!” I yelled out. Charlie came out running from behind the bush and tackled Ronnie to the ground. He started licking Ronnie’s face like crazy. “You always wanted a dog so I got us one and I figured he would fit right in with our crazy family.” I said. Ronnie smiled. “I love him.” He said. I smiled and stripped my clothes and jumped in the pool with my friends. Ronnie jumped in with us. “Charlie, come on in boy.” I said. He barked and came in. I lifted him onto a float and he laid down on it. I kissed his head and he smiled. I slipped a pair of sunglasses on him. “I really love him.” Ronnie said wrapping his arms around me. “Good because you’re stuck with him. I loved him since I laid eyes on him.” I said. “Wouldn’t dream of giving him away.” He said. I kissed his nose and watched our friends act like idiots having a splashing war. “How did we ever get stuck with them?” he asked. “Because we loved them when we first met them.” I said. Ryan came over and threw me on his shoulders. Tiffany was already on Jacky’s. “You two are going down.” Jacky said. “In your dreams Ducky.” I said. Tiffany grabbed my hands and we started pushing each other. Tiffany knocked me over and I fell onto Charlie’s float knocking him into the water. He barked and jumped out of the pool. He shook dry and laid out on the patio. “I’m sorry Charlie.” I said. He barked and fell asleep. I looked over at Jacky and Tiffany laughing and high fiving each other. “I will get revenge.” I said. “Sure you will Goober.” Jacky said. I smirked and got out of the pool. I jumped in front of them and pulled them under. They came up and started coughing. “Told you.” I said. Tiffany started splashing me. I laughed and we got out of the pool. “Can I borrow some clothes?” she asked. “Sure, come on.” I said giving her a towel. Charlie followed us to my closet. I took out clothes for her and she headed to the bathroom. I changed while I was waiting for her. Charlie curled up on my bed and I sat with him waiting for Tiffany. She came back in and smiled at me. “So you and Jacky?” I said raising my eyebrow. She blushed. “Ya what about it?” she asked. “You like him.” I said. She turned 50 shades of red. “Ask him out.” I said. She shook her head no. Charlie barked. “He agrees with me.” I said. She still said no. I laughed and we walked back downstairs. “What’s for dinner?” I asked. “Well your amazing fiancé is going to make burgers.” Ryan said. I laughed at how gay he sounded. “Back off Seaman, he’s mine.” I said. Ryan pouted and went to play with Charlie. I looked around for Jacky but I couldn’t find him.

Jacky’s POV

I stood outside with Ronnie helping him with the grill. Truth be told I was hiding from Tiffany. She is so pretty and she makes me extremely shy and nervous. “Dude, just ask her out. The worst she can say is no.” Ronnie said. “Easy for you to say, you aren’t the shy one.” I said. “Jacky, you have the sexiest accent alive according to women. Use it to your advantage.” He said. I laughed. “I will think about it.” I said. “Good because you two would look adorable together.” He said. I blushed. “BURGERS ARE READY!” Ronnie yelled. Everyone came outside and sat at the table. Ronnie took one over to Charlie’s bowl and placed it in there for him to eat. Charlie smiled and barked a thank you. I sat next Ron and Julia. Tiffany sat next to Ryan and Ronnie. She was laughing and looking like she was having the time of her life. Ryan is a great guy for her. Derek looked at me and I smiled weakly. “So Ryan how is Jen?” Derek asked. “Derek, you weren’t supposed to tell them yet.” Ryan whined. “Who is this Jen? And why am I hearing about her now and not when this all happened?” Julia asked. “She is my girlfriend.” Ryan said blushing. I chuckled. “Ryan, you blush anymore and you will look like a tomato.” I said. He flipped me off and everyone laughed. I looked up and saw Tiffany smiling at me. Then I realized her and Julia were making faces at each other. We finished eating and Ronnie set up a fire. “Um, I’m getting tired. I think I’m going to call it a day.” I said. “Wait Ducky, can you drive Tiffany home? She is tired and I’m way too tired to drive.” Julia said. She gave me her puppy dog eyes and pouted. “Sure.” I said. She smiled and went to get Tiffany. She came back and hugged us goodbye. Ronnie winked at me as we got in the car. “Thanks for driving me home Jacky.” She said. “Not a problem.” I said. I put some Gun N Roses on and she started dancing along with the music. She was so cute with her perfect blond hair and her beautiful blue eyes. She blushed when she noticed I saw her dancing along to the music. “Where do you live again?” I asked. “369 Main Street.” She said. I nodded and headed towards her house. I pulled up and helped her out of the car. “Thanks for the ride again. I really appreciate it.” She said. I smiled. “You’re welcome, wouldn’t want you staying in that house with Ronnie and Julia now would I.” I said. She laughed. “I’m glad they are finally together. They deserve each other.” She said. “Ya, it is crazy how everything worked out for them in the end.” I said. “Wish I was as lucky as her.” She said. “Trust me Tiffany, you are a really pretty girl and any guy is stupid who doesn’t think so.” I said. She blushed and hid her face behind her hair. “Thanks Jacky.” She said. “Welcome.” I said kissing her cheek. “Have a nice night.” I said. I turned on my heel to leave and I felt her grab my wrist. She crashed her lips to mine and I kissed her back with the same force. We pulled apart and smiled at each other. “Tiffany, will you go on a date with me this Friday night?” I asked. “Sure, I would love to Jacky.” She said. “Great, see you Friday. Goodnight.” I said kissing her softly. I walked back to my car and squealed in excitement. Yes, I, Jacky Vincent just squealed. I drove home and texted Ronnie about what happened. He said he would help me out if I needed anything. I am honestly so excited for this Friday now. As soon as I stopped texting Ronnie, Julia called me. “Hey Ducky.” She said. “You heard.” I said. “Of course, I am so happy for the both of you. And if you need anything call me. I love you.” She said. “Love you too Goober. Thanks.” I said. “Welcome, now goodnight. I’m falling asleep before these idiots do something stupid.” She said. I laughed and hung up the phone. I put on some Motely Crue and fell asleep.
