Chapter 31: Mother Mother Where Have You Been (Part 1)

Ronnie’s POV

I woke up to screaming and saw Julia trashing in her sleep. I was so worried and scared. I shook her and she didn’t wake up. I saw blood on the bed but not a lot. Willow came running in scared. “Call your Uncle Jacky now.” I said. She nodded and ran downstairs. I told her to call Jacky because he lives the closest. I threw some cold water on Julia and managed to wake her up. I carried her to the car as Jacky pulled in the driveway. “Julia is bleeding and I need you to watch Willow.” I said. He nodded and ran in to comfort Willow who was crying at the door. “We will be back soon bunny. Mommy will be alright.” I said. Willow waved goodbye and I sped to the hospital. “Ronnie, what is happening?” Julia asked shaking. “I woke up and you were screaming and thrashing in your sleep. I tried to wake you but I saw blood on the bed. So I threw water on you and now I am taking you to the hospital.” I said. She squeezed my hand tightly scared. I mean she is five months along. This shouldn’t be happening to her. We got to the hospital and I rushed her inside. Nurses took her off and I slid down the wall head in hands crying. I texted the one person who I really need right now. Max. He said he would be here right away. Max came running in. He ran straight for me. “Have you heard any news?” he asked. I shook my head. He hugged me and rubbed my back. Julia’s doctor came out. “Has your wife had any surgeries on her uterus?” he asked. “Ya, she had an abortion I think about a year ago.” I said. He nodded. “Well come on back so I can talk to you and your wife together.” He said. I nodded. “Can my brother come with?” I asked. “Of course.” The doctor said. We walked back and Julia smiled weakly. I walked over and kissed her and held her hand. Max hugged her and her doctor sat down in a chair. “Well Julia here has placenta previa. Now it is marginal previa. The placenta extends just to the edge of the cervix. Now she should be fine but she is to be on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy and frequent hospital visits. We will be giving you steroid shots when you come to try and mature the baby further in case an emergency cesarean needs to take place but you should be able to give birth naturally. She should avoid intercourse, pelvic exams and she should limit her traveling.” He said. I nodded. “So she cannot come on tour with my band and I?” I asked. “When and how long is your next tour?” he asked. “We should only be doing a few shows here and there in California.” I said. “Well she can go up until she is seven months if she makes it that far.” He said. I nodded. “We are going to go get her first shot and then book her next appointment.” He said. He got up and left. “Are you okay Julia?” I asked. She nodded and I kissed her. “Maxi pad.” She said holding out her arms. Max walked over and hugged her. Julia started crying. “Max, I am so sorry for everything. I have missed you so much.” She said. “Julia, it is alright. I am sorry for what I said.” He said. They smiled and I waved Max into the hallway. He followed me out and I stopped him. “Max, thank you for coming. I did not know who else I could call. I am so sorry for what happened between us man. I hope we can put it all in the past and be best friends again.” I said. “Ronnie, that’s all I ever wanted. I’ve missed you so much man.” He said hugging me. I hugged him back. “I am getting clean. Two months sober.” He said. “Max, I am so proud of you.” I said. He smiled and we headed back into the room. “So how’s it going?” she asked. “Well the three musketeers are back together.” I said. She squealed and motioned for us to come hug her. We laughed and hugged her. A nurse came in and gave her the shot. “Wait twenty minutes and we will be back to release her.” She said. We nodded and I texted Jacky that we would be home in an hour. We sat around joking about old times and then a nurse came to release Julia. We drove home and Max came with. Once we shut the door Willow came running outside and hugged Julia. “Mommy, I was so scared.” She said. “I am alright baby, don’t worry. Your sister is fine too. Mommy just has to be on bed rest for a long time.” Julia said. Willow nodded and kissed Julia’s tummy. We headed inside and found Jacky singing along with Spongebob. We laughed silently and recorded him. Willow ran over and sang with him. When they finished we clapped and Jacky blushed. “Well I am getting back to Tiffany; see you at the studio later.” He said. I nodded and he left. “Who wants to have a movie day with mommy?” Julia asked. “ME!” Willow and Max yelled. I laughed. “I will be back later have fun you three.” I said. I kissed Julia and kissed Willow’s head. I got changed and left for the studio picking Ryan up on the way. He is in such a good mood. “You going to tell me why you are so god damn happy?” I asked. “You are going to be a godfather.” He said. I smiled. “Really? I am so happy for you both.” I said. Ryan smiled and thanked me. Time to record our new album.

Julia’s POV

I took a shower while Willow played with Max. I got out and threw my hair into a messy bun. I slipped on a sports bra, Ronnie’s black hoodie and some sweatpants. I headed downstairs to find Max with makeup on. I laughed and took a picture. “What? Willow made me into a pretty princess.” He said. “Well you look a little pretty.” I said. He pouted. “Go clean up while Willow and I pick out a movie.” I said. He nodded and walked to the bathroom. “I want to watch Hotel Transylvania.” Willow said. “Okay.” I said taking out of the DVD rack. I put it in and went to make popcorn. When the popcorn was done Max came out and we sat down to watch the movie. I was enjoying the movie and Willow’s eyes were glued to the screen. Soon the movie was over and Willow was singing along with the final song. “Mommy, is daddy your zing?” she asked. “Yes he is.” I said. “Uncle Max, do you have a zing?” she asked him. I looked at Max and his face fell. He was in love with this girl but then she dumped him and got married. “Not yet Willow but I will find mine soon.” He said. I rubbed his back and smiled. “Wanna watch another movie?” I asked. She nodded and went to put it Madagascar #3. I started laughing when Marty did the afro thing. I heard my phone going off and I picked it up. It was a text from my dad. He said my mom came home. My jaw dropped. “Max, can you watch Willow for a second? I need to call Ronnie.” I said. He nodded. I headed outside and called Ronnie. “Hi baby, what’s going on?” he asked. “My mom came home.” I said. “Is everything okay? What is going through your head?” he asked. “I want to see her Ronnie. I deserve a reason as to why she left.” I said. “We can fly out there this weekend.” He said. “Thank you Ronnie.” I said. “No problem baby. I love you.” He said. “I love you too.” I said. I headed back in. “Willow this weekend we are going to go see Grandpa.” I said. “Okay, will he like me?” she asked. “Of course he will. You are pretty and amazing.” I said. She smiled and hugged me.
