~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Scooping up a pile of freshly cleaned swords, Peter began to make his way through the camp. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice where he was going. Suddenly Jack's arm collided into his, knocking the weapons out of his arms. The fall was cushioned by the soft forest floor, but it didn't seem to make much difference and Peter still groaned in pain.
As Peter lay, shocked and bewildered, his back firmly pressed against the rock hard ground, Peter caught sight of something glinting above him. It was a dagger that had been flung forward in his fall. In that split second, Peter realised it was now plummeting at a deadly speed back down to Earth.
Peter only had enough time to curse under his breath, his breath hitched with trepidation, and squeeze his eyes tightly closed, before it hit the ground next to him, denting the soft red rocks. Peter heard the thud of the sound of metal on rock, but it took another moment for him to realise it hadn't pierced his heart.
Cautiously, Peter opened one eye and surveyed his surroundings. Then, the second eye peeled open and cleared the blurry image of tents, weapons, rocks and Jack. Jack, the guy that had knocked him over, but now held out a large, dirty, blooded, rough hand. Peter didn't acknowledge it, simply breathing in a sigh of relief. He turned at noticed the hilt of the dagger, blade half buried in the sediment rock, almost right next to his face.
'Are you alright?' Startled, Peter looked up to raise an eyebrow at Jack. Cringing with embarrassment, Peter sat up and yanked the dagger from the ground, using much more force than he first anticipated.
'I'm fine, no thanks to you.' Peter snapped irritably, allowing his outstretched hand to pull him to his feet awkwardly. He dusted himself down, slightly embarrassed by his fall, but overall frustrated with him. The ground was dusty and dry, so was easily swept off like flour on polished wood.
Suddenly, Peter's eyes widened. His heart rate increases over a hundred miles an hour he felt certain. Peter instantly become sweaty with anxiety and trepidation.
'Peter?' Jack asked, coming to his side to gather up the weapons into his own hands. Noticing Peter's bewildered and terrified state, Jack hastily sat him down and past him a drink of water. 'Peter, are you alight?'
Peter firmly shook his head no, feeling like he was going to throw up everywhere. Why hadn't he seen his before? It was so clear, so obvious; it was practically in front of him all of this time. Peter was irritated and angry with himself for being so narrow minded. A wedding day was the perfect time for Margarita to attack and harm Snow White and leave without being noticed.
Peter eventually managed to calm himself down, taking large gulps of the water and placing his hands around the back of his neck, scratching it awkwardly, before averting his gaze to his protege who stared at him with a vacant expression.
'The wedding is today and everyone will be there... So Margarita will be confident she can sneak in unnoticed or even wear a disguise of some kind... She could leave so easily.' Peter wheezed, coughing before continueing. Jack nodded, his eyes widening with worry. 'We have to return to he city, for the sake of Snow White. I can almost feel it that Margarita will take this opportunity to attack.' Peter sighed as he sat back in his chair, clasping and unclasping his hands.
'He's right.' Jack said disappointed. We must return for her, she needs us more than ever!' Jack agreed, stepping forwards. 'All who agree say I.'
There was a chorus of 'I's and not one Gone boy didn't open his mouth to disagree. Patrick was the only one to say more: 'Andrew would agree too.'
