"What the hell?!" Jongin shouted with wide eyes, his chest starting to heave as his heart began to race. "Who the hell are you and how did you get in my house?!"
"Woah, please calm down, sir," the boy said in a polite tone of voice, speaking formally. "I cannot answer all three questions at once. I can only answer one question at a time."
"I don't care about how many questions you can answer at once!" Jongin said loudly again, making the small, fragile-looking boy flinch. "I care about who you are and how you got in my house, so you better tell me before I call the cops and have you arrested for breaking and entering!"
"Oh, no, please do not call those men!" he begged, stepping closer to Jongin. "I do not like those men. They are scary men. They carry around sticks that they can hit you with and I do not want to be hit with a stick."
There was a cuteness in his voice, Jongin observed, but he was too baffled by the fact that there was a stranger in his house to dwell on it.
"Fine, I won't call them if you tell me who you are and how you got here," Jongin said, trying to speak slowly enough so that this tiny stranger would understand.
"Oh, good," he said as he smiled, relieved. "I thought you were being serious about calling the bad men. My name is Do Kyungsoo," he said and bowed, finally responding to Jongin's question properly. "What is your name?"
"Jongin," the taller replied quickly, wishing to skip the whole introduction thing and get straight to the point. But before he could even try to take a step in that direction, the boy named Kyungsoo spoke again.
"Jongin is a very nice name," he said, the slowness in his voice making Jongin sigh impatiently. "I do not think I have ever met anyone named Jongin. Until now, of course."
"Yeah, that's great," Jongin said as he batted his hand and made his eyelids tremble once or twice. "Now that I know who you are, you have to tell me how you got in my house."
"Do you not remember?" Kyungsoo questioned, cocking his head to the side. "You brought me in here last night. You were shouting about how life sucks and how it is out to get the good people and then you took me inside and let me sleep on your scarf. Thank you for that, by the way. Your scarf was very comfortable."
While Kyungsoo was smiling both gratefully and cheekily, Jongin furrowed his eyebrows and tried to process how he could have brought a human into his home last night when he strictly remembered--
Holy shit.
His eyes widened when the dots connected right in front of his face.
He remembered bringing a dog home last night, but he could no longer find the dog and instead found himself talking to a random boy who claimed to have been brought in by Jongin--just like that dog was. Which could only mean one thing...
Kyungsoo was that dog.
"HOLY FUCKING SHIT!" he bellowed, his eyes becoming wider than ever as his feet stumbled backward. "WHAT? HOW? WHY?"
"Uh oh," Kyungsoo mumbled, knowing exactly what was about to happen.
"HOW IS THAT EVEN ANATOMICALLY POSSIBLE? HOW IS THAT BIOLOGICALLY POSSIBLE?" Jongin was now staggering around his apartment, his hands embedded in his hair. "WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL IS HAPPENING?"
"Are you done now?" Kyungsoo asked quietly, sheepishly taking a step closer to Jongin.
"NO, I AM NOT DONE!" Jongin hollered, his booming voice making Kyungsoo flinch for a second time. "HOW THE HELL CAN YOU TURN INTO A PERSON?! YOU WERE LITERALLY A DOG FIVE HOURS AGO!!"
