Jongin really liked to watch Kyungsoo sleep.
Not just because he looked so cute, but also because it gave him time to admire him and wonder what in the world he did to deserve him. He never expected to feel this strongly about him, but now, he couldn't ever imagine feeling any other way. He saw in him his whole universe and galaxy, everything he had ever hoped for in a companion wrapped up into one person, something Jongin thought was a myth saved for fairytales.
But this was his reality and he couldn't have been any happier.
With a couple more tiny moans, Kyungsoo's body stirred and flipped in Jongin's direction, and when the younger saw his boyfriend smiling down at him, he couldn't help but smile back.
"Good morning, baby," Jongin said as he leaned down and kissed his lover's forehead. "How do you feel?"
"Mm," Kyungsoo hummed, snuggling into Jongin's side, "I feel happy." Smiling again, Jongin pressed his lips to the top of Kyungsoo's head, kissing him softly as he began to rub small circles on his bare back.
"Hey," he said. "You know what?"
"What?" Kyungsoo said, gazing up at Jongin sleepily.
"I don't have to go to work for an entire week."
Kyungsoo's face lit up. "Really?"
"Really," Jongin said, letting his hand slide down to intertwine with Kyungsoo's. "I had some vacation time to use, so I took off for the holiday."
"So, that means you can stay here with me all day for one whole week?" Kyungsoo asked, excitement spewing from his voice.
Jongin chortled and nodded. "Yeah," he said, observing the elated look on his boyfriend's face and cracking a smile. "I can spend every single second of my time holding you and kissing you and telling you how beautiful you are."
Kyungsoo giggled loudly as Jongin rolled on top of him and pecked various spots of his neck, lightly tickling his sides at the same time. The latter's giggles faded out once Jongin stopped, this time using his hand to caress and stroke Kyungsoo's soft cheek.
The words were right there, but for some reason, Jongin was still scared, scared that his reality would shatter right in front of him the moment he spoke them.
"What do you say we go to the movies today?" he said instead, deciding it was best to switch topics. "Get out of the house for a little bit."
Kyungsoo nodded. "Okay, Jongin," he said before the elder leaned down and kissed his lips softly.
"Okay," he said upon pulling back, his eyes lingering over Kyungsoo's. "I'll get breakfast going on and then maybe we can see a matinee or something." As he got off of the bed and sat on the edge to dress himself in his boxers, Kyungsoo sat up as well and stretched out all the cramps in his body that had formed overnight. "You can go first, Soo," Jongin said as he rose to his feet. "I'll just make the bed and clean up a bit while you're in there."
"Okay, Jongin," Kyungsoo said, yawning cutely and putting on his underwear and Jongin's shirt before waddling off to the bathroom. Barely five minutes had passed when Jongin heard Kyungsoo scream his name from the other side of the apartment. "JONGIN!" He rushed over to the bathroom and quickly pushed open the door to see a terrified Kyungsoo peering into the mirror, his hands covering his neck.
"What, what's wrong, Soo?" he said in a panicked and worried voice, walking closer to him. "What happened?"
"Look!" Kyungsoo said, tearing one hand away and pointing to the purplish-blue blemishes on his neck. "I got attacked last night in my sleep! What am I going to do? What if I die?"
Jongin laughed. "You didn't get attacked in your sleep," he said, moving closer to him. "Those are hickeys. That's what sometimes happens when people have sex."
"Why do they do that?" Kyungsoo questioned with a scrunched-up face.
"I don't know. For different reasons I suppose," Jongin said with a shrug, having not really thought about it before. "Some people like to leave marks behind to let other people know they're taken." Kyungsoo's eyes fell down to the spots on his neck and when he looked at them a second time, taking into consideration Jongin's words, he smiled.
"Then, does that mean that I am yours, Jongin?" he asked.
Jongin smiled faintly. "Yeah, I guess so," he answered with a small smile, looking at him through the mirror. Kyungsoo's smile widened. Jongin pressed a soft kiss to one of the hickeys, sending a series of quick chills racing down Kyungsoo's spine. "I'll let you finish getting cleaned up, okay?" he said, stepping away from Kyungsoo after one last peck on the cheek.
"Okay, Jongin," Kyungsoo said, smiling at his older boyfriend as he exited the bathroom and carefully shut the door. He looked back at the marks on his neck once he was alone and another smile naturally found its way onto his lips as he brushed his fingers over one.
He sure did like the idea of being Jongin's.
**********
They exited the theater later that afternoon, their hands tightly linked together.
"Did you like the movie, Soo?" Jongin asked as they walked toward the car, making sure to look both ways before crossing the road.
"Yes, I liked it very much," Kyungsoo said, looking up at him. "I thought that it was very funny. Do you think that all those little creatures live inside our heads and control our emotions?"
"I doubt it," Jongin said, shaking his head and chuckling, "but you believe whatever you want to, baby." Kyungsoo smiled at that, squeezing Jongin a little tighter.
As Jongin was unlocking the car, he failed to notice Taemin walking in the same direction as them, except he was heading to a different car in a different row. However, as he was making his way across the parking lot, he just happened to look up and over to see Jongin with Kyungsoo clinging to his side.
"Jongin?" he said in a low voice to himself, pausing to furrow his eyebrows and marvel at the sight. "No way..." he whispered, starting to grin as he watched Jongin's car back out of the space and pull away. He scoffed and snickered, shaking his head as he resumed his journey over to Minho's car.
"You'll never guess who I just saw," he said as he sat down and slammed the passenger's side door shut.
"Who?" Minho asked, leaning forward and gripping the keys, which were already in the ignition, with his hand.
"Jongin and guess who he was with?"
"Who?" Minho said again but in a slower, more drawn out voice, turning the key and making the engine fire up from under the hood.
"Kyungsoo," Taemin said. "Remember that boy I was telling you about, his friend from America or whatever? And get this, they were holding hands, almost as if they were together."
"Well, maybe they are," Minho said, sitting back in his seat. "Or maybe Kyungsoo just likes holding hands."
"I doubt it," Taemin said with slightly raised eyebrows as he slid his seatbelt across his chest and clicked it in place. "I think he is more than a companion."
