The soft spot Jongin had for Kyungsoo grew substantially after that day.

He never thought he would be okay with having someone around who constantly yearned for his attention, but he was. He never thought he would actually look forward to coming home from work every day, but he did. He never thought he could care so deeply for another person, but he did.

The change in him had become more noticeable to others over time. Taemin would notice it in his eyes each time he ran into Jongin and Chanyeol heard it in his voice whenever they talked on the phone or met up. Even Luhan began to take note of the change. There was a shift in the aura surrounding him and most everyone who knew him could feel it, including Jongin himself.

But what he knew that the others didn't was that it was all because of one very special boy named Kyungsoo.

Jongin had scrambled eggs and bacon sizzling on the stovetop around the time Kyungsoo strolled sleepily out of the bedroom, rubbing his drowsy eyes with the back of his hand. Jongin was never the type of person to let any person sleep in his bed, not even out of common hospitality. It almost felt too personal to him. He didn't mind it when it came to Kyungsoo, though. He didn't even have to ask if it was alright anymore. It was like coming to bed with him had grown to be an expectation of their routine, something they no longer thought twice about.

Upon spinning around, Jongin smiled at Kyungsoo briefly before putting his focus back on the cooking food. "Good morning," he said as Kyungsoo entered the kitchen.

"Good morning, Jongin," Kyungsoo replied in a cute and lethargic voice. Jongin finished stirring around the eggs in the frying pan when Kyungsoo came up behind him and wrapped his arms around him in a back hug. Admittedly, the first time he did it, Jongin was surprised and didn't really know how to react, but after a while, he got used to it and even began looking forward to it.

"Did you sleep well?" Jongin asked, letting the younger stay attached him.

"Yes," Kyungsoo answered with a nod. "You are very warm, Jongin." Jongin smiled at the compliment. "Did you sleep well?"

"I did, actually," Jongin said, quickly glancing at him as he responded to his question. "You did squirm a lot during the night, though."

"Oh, I am sorry," Kyungsoo said as he detached from him, giggling and blushing in embarrassment. "I dream a lot when I sleep. I hope I did not disturb you too much."

"It's okay." Jongin chuckled, patting the top of his head a little. "You didn't disturb me at all."

Kyungsoo's blush got deeper. "Good," he said, trying to hold back his smile and making it totally obvious.

Jongin laughed. "You're so cute," he said in a softer voice, going back to the food in the pans. Kyungsoo's heart forgot to beat for a split second. That had been happening a lot to him recently, especially when Jongin would pull him into the safety and comfort of his arms at nighttime. No emotion he had ever felt compared to the one Kyungsoo felt when he was with Jongin. "Are you hungry?" Jongin inquired, turning both burners on the electric stove off. "I made eggs and bacon."

"Oh, I will have bacon, please!" Kyungsoo responded eagerly.

"No eggs?" he said, reaching his arm up to the cupboard that held the plates.

"No." Kyungsoo shook his head and frowned. "Eggs make my tummy upset."

"Okay," Jongin said with a few extra laughs, adoring his talking voice. Since bacon was the only Kyungsoo requested, Jongin put six strips on the plate instead of the four he would later put on his.
