Gradually, Kyungsoo's nightmares of the bad man stopped.
He was still afraid of Minho, but the more he came around, the less afraid Kyungsoo became. Admittedly, Jongin was still a little wary about having him around too much because for a while, he thought there was a possibility there were details about his job he was leaving out, so he made sure to be close by whenever he came over with Taemin in case Kyungsoo needed him. But as Kyungsoo became more trusting, so did Jongin.
"How can you not like sugar cookies?" Taemin asked Kyungsoo after he and Jongin returned from their weekly shopping trip to the grocery store. "Sugar cookies are like the best of all cookies."
"I do not know," Kyungsoo said, shrugging and blinking at Taemin innocently. "I just do not like them. They do not get along well with my tummy." Jongin, who was busy putting away his purchased goods in the kitchen, chuckled to himself when he saw his boyfriend look down and pat his stomach.
"Well, we're just gonna have to make it like them. Remind me to bake some and bring them over some time," Taemin said, pulling out his phone and writing himself a note. "I promise your tummy will love the sugar cookies I make."
Kyungsoo laughed. "Okay, Taemin hyung. I trust you," he said, prompting Taemin give the top of his head a couple of pets.
Jongin found it admirable how close Taemin and Kyungsoo had become over a short period of time. He liked seeing that Kyungsoo enjoyed spending time with other people, and he definitely liked that he had another pair of eyes to watch over him when he wasn't around.
"What do you feel like eating, Soo?" Jongin asked as he walked over to join them in the living room.
"I do not know," Kyungsoo said, looking up at Jongin. "What do you feel like eating?"
"I don't know," Jongin answered with an indecisive pout on his face.
"Gee," Taemin commented in an already sarcastic voice, "I would love to be a fly on the wall when you two are talking. I can just tell you have the most riveting conversations."
"Shut up," Jongin said, throwing a pillow at him and getting a small laugh from him as he caught it in his lap."We can always have ramen. There are at least two cases of it in the pantry."
"Really, Jongin?" Taemin said, face scrunched up in disapproval.
"What?" shrugged Jongin. "You can never have too much instant ramen."
"Yeah, which is exactly why you work at a gym, so you can work off all that unhealthy ramen you eat," Taemin replied, causing Jongin to roll his eyes in response.
"What do you say, Soo?" Jongin said, putting his attention back on his boyfriend. "Do you want ramen? I can make it kinda fancy, add eggs and spam and stuff."
"Okay, Jongin," Kyungsoo said, nodding and smiling his bright smile. "I will have whatever makes you happy." Grinning back at him, Jongin leaned to kiss the top of his head briefly.
"Instant ramen it is," Jongin said as he made his way back over to the kitchen. "You want some, hyung"
"As nutritious as that sounds," Taemin said, "I think I'll pass."
"Are you sure?" Jongin said. "I've got all different flavors. I'm sure there's one that will strike your fancy."
"No, thank you," he said with a light sigh. "I'll just get some take out later tonight or something. Minho got paid yesterday."
"Are you sure you do not want any, Taemin hyung?" Kyungsoo asked, his eyes twinkling. "Jongin said he can make kind of fancy."
"No, it's really fine, Soo," Taemin said, chuckling a little as he leaned forward and patted the boy's head. "But I can stick around for a while if you want. Minho's still at work anyway."
