The first thing Kyungsoo wanted to do when they got back home was take bath.
Jongin prepared a warm, bubbly bath for him, filling the tub about half full with water. He told Kyungsoo when it was ready and helped him step inside carefully, humming happily when his body became surrounded by the warm water.
"Is it too hot?" Jongin asked he finished turning off the water.
"No, Jongin," Kyungsoo replied, shaking his head lightly. "It is perfect."
A light grin curled onto Jongin's mouth in response and he started helping him wash off. Kyungsoo hummed happily and played with the foamy, white bubbles surrounding him, pointing his twinkling eyes and sweet smile at Jongin with every minute or so that lapsed, as if he was making sure he wouldn't disappear into thin air--not that Jongin minded.
Once he was all clean, he helped out of the tub and wrapped a towel around him to start drying him off. Kyungsoo just stood there obediently, gazing up at him with the softest of expressions. Jongin felt a little shy, but at the same time, he couldn't help but look right back at him.
Jongin abruptly leaned down and kissed him on the lips. Although taken by surprise, Kyungsoo's eyes fell closed at the soft feeling of Jongin's lips against his, kissing back with as much force as he could muster up. Jongin broke the kiss and pulled his face back, stroking Kyungsoo's skin with his thumb.
"I love you," he said, the words coming out a lot more easily than he anticipated. "I was so scared to say it, but now, after experiencing what it's like to be without you, I can't ignore it anymore. I love you, curse and all."
An overjoyed smile spread across Kyungsoo's face and he threw his arms around Jongin's waist in a hug. "Do you really mean that, Jongin?" he asked, his head resting against Jongin's chest. "Do you really love me?"
Jongin smiled and placed his arms around Kyungsoo. "I really mean it," he said into his hair before kissing it. Kyungsoo's smile widened and his eyes closed as he hugged him tighter.
"That makes me very happy," he said.
Jongin laughed airily. "You can always count on me making you happy from now on, okay?" he said. "I promise, I won't let you down again."
"I trust you, Jongin," Kyungsoo said, nodding his head and pulling back from the hug. "But just do not let the bad man come and take me again, okay? I hate being in cages."
Jongin chuckled again as he nodded in agreement. "Okay," he said. "Just try not to run off without me again."
"Do not worry, Jongin," Kyungsoo said, tenderly caressing the elder's cheek with his hand. "I will not run away ever again. You do not run away from people you love and I love you, so I will not run away." Spreading the corners of his lips out for what seemed like the millionth time, Jongin placed his hand on top of Kyungsoo's and pressed a chaste kiss to it after moving it toward his lips.
"What do you say I finish drying you off and then I'll make us some hot chocolate?" Jongin said, making Kyungsoo's face light up. "Would you like that?"
"Yes, I would like that very much!" Kyungsoo cheered elatedly, clapping his hands together and emitting a cackle from Jongin. "My mother used to make hot chocolate for me whenever it got cold outside and it always tasted delicious and warm."
"Well, I don't know if it'll be as good as your mother's," Jongin said, proceeding with drying off the water from Kyungsoo's hair, "but I'll try my best." Kyungsoo giggled and stood still as Jongin continued to dry him off, helping him get dressed in their bedroom afterward.
