Jongin was happy that he had the next day off from work.
As usual, he had no idea what he would be doing, but he was looking forward to spending as much time as possible with Kyungsoo. He knew it wouldn't completely make up for the stupidity he displayed the day before, but he figured that dedicating all the time he had to him would be a good start.
Jongin's own feelings still weren't totally clear to him, but he wasn't as worried about it anymore. When he thought that Kyungsoo left, he felt as if his whole world came crashing down in front of him, and that was all the clarity he needed right now. They could figure the rest out later, together.
They started the day off lazily, going back to lay bed after having some lunch. They were watching some new movie Jongin had put on his iPod, but Kyungsoo was too busy trying to fight off sleep to pay attention. Jongin was keeping him very warm and the soft blanket laying atop of them wasn't making his battle any easier.
Glancing down at Kyungsoo, Jongin chuckled when he saw his closed eyes and faint smile. "Aren't you gonna watch the movie?" he questioned, the smirk still pulling at the corner of his mouth.
Kyungsoo shook his head cutely. "I cannot watch the movie because you are very warm and it is making me sleepy," he said with a yawn. Jongin chuckled lightly again, leaning down to kiss the top of Kyungsoo's head afterward.
"You can go back to sleep if you want," he said, pausing the movie. "But I'm going to the store later, so you'll have to wake up if you want to come with me."
"Oh, yes!" he exclaimed with a sudden burst of energy, turning around quickly to face Jongin. "I do want to go with you!"
"Okay." Jongin chuckled at his response, not that he was expecting anything different from him, his little shadow.
"I am so excited!" Kyungsoo said with a cheerful and cheeky smile. "I do not think I have ever been to a store before."
"Well, then I guess you should get some rest so you have plenty of energy," he replied, giving his head a few gentle pets. "I'll wake you up before we go."
"Okay, Jongin," Kyungsoo said, showing him his smile for a few seconds more before turning back around and sinking into Jongin's lap. He kept his eyes for a minute or so more and then finally began to doze off again, the adorable view bringing a smile to Jongin's face.
**********
Kyungsoo found everything at the store to be absolutely fascinating.
It was so big and bright and colorful. But his favorite aisle by far was the one with all of the cookies. They spent at least ten minutes in that aisle alone and Jongin would internally laugh as he watched Kyungsoo gawk over all the various brands and flavors of cookies the store carried as if he wanted to eat every single one.
"Do you want to get some cookies, Soo?" Jongin asked, his voice making Kyungsoo spin his head in that direction. He silently thought for a moment, his lips pressed together tightly.
"No," he said, shaking his head but completely lying. He knew people struggled with money a lot and he didn't want to be the cause of Jongin's struggle. Jongin cocked one of his eyebrows and silently watched as Kyungsoo tried to tear his eyes away from the shelf. He shook his head, laughing as he pushed the cart over to him.
"What kind do you want?" he said, causing Kyungsoo to look at him with big, blinking eyes again. "Go on, you can pick one. I'll buy it for you."
"Really?" Kyungsoo said, eyebrows raised.
"Yeah," Jongin said, chuckling silently and nodding. Kyungsoo smiled widely in gratitude and then scanned his eyes over all his options again, excited that he was actually able to pick one for himself. But, of course, he was going to share with Jongin.
