The weeks carried on blissfully for Jongin and Kyungsoo.
Jongin now worked seven days a week, but in exchange, he managed to get Luhan to shave a couple of hours off his shifts. This extra time allowed Jongin to get to know Kyungsoo better besides the fact that he liked cuddles, being warm, and cookies. He loved flowers too, and would always stop to pick some for the apartment whenever they went out for walks.
He was really creative and often passed the time while Jongin was working by coloring and making artwork that slowly began to take over the refrigerator. He quite smart as well when he really applied himself, especially considering that he had never really received any kind of education. He had taken an interest in learning to write and within a couple weeks of instruction, he was already writing full sentences.
His most endearing attribute in Jongin's opinion, though, was his curiosity. Kyungsoo was so fascinated by the world and how it worked, always asking questions that the average person would never think to ask. There were some occasions where he would even get Jongin to think about things differently, look at situations in a different light.
Although it had only been two months since he first brought him home, Jongin was starting to dread imagining a life without Kyungsoo in it.
It was almost time for Kyungsoo to turn and after Jongin had served dinner and cleaned up the mess it left behind in the kitchen, they decided to spend the rest of their time cuddling in front of the television.
"Jongin?" Kyungsoo said as he turned around to look at him. "Have many boyfriends have you had?"
"Hmm..." Jongin hummed as he thought, putting the channel surfing on hold. When he really thought about it, he realized that he had never had any boyfriends before Kyungsoo came along, something he had never really stopped to consider. "None, I don't think," he answered, meeting his eyes with Kyungsoo's.
"None?" Kyungsoo questioned.
"None," Jongin said.
"Not even one?"
"Nope."
"So..." His voice trailed off as he sat up and faced the elder, "that mean that I am your first boyfriend?"
"Yeah," Jongin said as he glanced away for a moment, nodding. "Yeah, I guess you are my first boyfriend." His response made Kyungsoo so ecstatic that if he wouldn't have contained it, his smile would have taken over his whole face.
"Does that make me special?" he said next.
Jongin smiled softly and leaned forward a little to press a kiss to Kyungsoo velvety lips, saying afterward, "Yes, that makes you very special indeed." The smile on the younger's face stretched out a bit more before the two males' lips met once again, this time being interrupted when a knocking sound erupted from outside the front door. "Let me go see who that is," Jongin said, gently patting Kyungsoo's hand as he stood up.
Kyungsoo adjusted his body so that he was standing on his knees, watching Jongin as he walked over to the door and opened it. "Chanyeol, what are you doing here?" he asked, the displeasure in his voice making Kyungsoo even more curious as to who this Chanyeol person was. "We've already had our monthly cousin-to-cousin date."
"What, is there a new law that says I can't make a surprise visit to my younger cousin now?" Chanyeol said. Jongin just stared, seeing right through the excuse he made up, the obvious tell being that he was carrying a suitcase with him.
"I ask you again, what are you doing here?" he repeated.
Chanyeol groaned and let his shoulder fall. "Fine, I got evicted from my apartment," he admitted, causing Jongin to nod. "I quit my job because the boss was a total dickhead and I couldn't find another one fast enough, so my landlord kicked me out."
