I freeze in place. Then, I slowly inch my way towards the direction of the sound. Out of the corner of my eye, I watch Calum draw his gun. Kyle does the same.

Alison speaks up from behind me.  "Chris. Please don't."

My heart is beating like it never has before. Without even thinking, I hold up three fingers at my side where I know my brother and Calum will see.

Three.. Two.. I jump into the air, smacking the gun away from the enemy, my sisters kidnapper. The weapon clatters to the ground a few feet away.

Obviously, I took him by surprise.  Much appreciated, the group follows my lead.  Calum is behind the man, and Kyle by his side.  Alison stands with a knife drawn on the open side of him.

"Who are you?" I ask.

"Chris."

"You think this is some kind of joke? Kidnapping my little sister?" Kyle speaks, pushing the muzzle of the gun closer to the mans temple, pressing the barrel into the skin on his forehead.

Kyle has always been aggressive, he may not always be the nicest brother but he has always stood up for his siblings. I remember when I was in second grade and there was a bully who would always steal my lunch and cheat off of my work.  One day, I let it slip to Kyle and he beat the living crap out of the poor kid.  No wonder I was afraid to tell my family. I knew the consequences.  Nonetheless, the boy never spoke to me again.  He wouldn't even look my way.

"Look man. I'm just doing what the boss told me." The guy replies, shrugging as if he could care less if Kyle put a bullet in his skull.

"Where is he? Where's Ryder?" Alison yells at him, the raw emotion clear in her voice tells me that she cares about this person.  Who's this Ryder person and why does she care so much?

Calum and I meet glances and the crinkle in his eyebrows means that he's thinking of the next thing to do.

He nudged toward my backpack that still rests between my shoulders. I was the only one of us who actually brought theirs.

I send him a questioning stare, wondering what he is saying, then I understand.  I shrug off the pack and unzip it, scrummaging for the small rope spool included.

I finally feel the rope rubbing against my fingers, and I pull it out, uniting the knot meant to hold it in place.

Quickly, I toss the rope to Calum, who proceeds to grab both arms of the man and tie them in a few swift motions.  He had thrown his gun back over his shoulder.

Alison demands that he answers her question once more with anger in her voice.

"Where-is-Ryder?!" She yells, putting her hand around 'Chris's' neck.

"I told you before you ran off! The deal is over!"

"Someone explain! What deal?" I ask.

"After they took me I met someone–Ryder, in their group and well.. They forced us to make a deal that as long as I led them here that they would let him leave with me and not kill us." A tear falls from her eye and rolls down her cheek. "I tried Carter I really did. I wasn't going to tell them but they found out and they threatened you all."

"Alison don't apologize. You did what you had to do." Calum steps in.

The man is smirking.

Suddenly, the long-awaited honk of our car that meant that trouble had came was ringing my ears. Calum finishes tying the mans hands and we all sprint. I grab Alison's arm to make sure she doesn't wander off.

"Ali, we can find him in a minute. Alyssa needs help." She nods her head. The once long, beautiful blonde hair she had was a tangled mess. The sister I have always known would not stand for letting herself go like this. The conditions of that camp just have been terrible.

"O-okay."

We continue sprinting along the edge of the woods, backtracking the way we came. The sounds of the angry man yelling profanities at us occupy my mind as we run.

"Ali?" I breathe. "You have a lot of explaining to do when this is over with."

"Trust me, it's a long story."

We finally reach the black Ford, and the guns we carry are loaded and ready to attack the intruder.

I open the front door, calling for Alyssa.

Sitting in the back seat with her, is a boy around Alison's age. Although I have no clue who it is, I can assume that the boy is none other than the infamous Ryder.

"He said he knew who I was and I know who he is he goes–went to my old school and he said he knew Alison and that he was on our side but I didn't know what to do and.. I'm sorry guys I didn't mean to mess this up." Alyssa babbles. Meanwhile. My sister is tangled up with the dirty blonde guy named Ryder. Now that I see him up closer, he seems older than her. Not by much, but the facial hair is a definite clue.

The two finally let go of each other, pulling away from the hug. Alison then moves on to Kyle, Alyssa, and even Calum.

"I missed you guys so much."

Glad to be back with my sister, a grin spreads across my face.

"Think we should trust him?" Calum whispers low enough for me to hear.

"I don't know. He seems alright but I don't know the kid so I don't know."

"Well, let's go. We have some adults to track down." My brother speaks.

"By the way," he adds to no one in particular, however it is obviously aimed at Ryder, "I bench 250 and can hit a bullseye at 75 yards."

Ryder steps away from my sister before hopping into the truck. We all do the same, cramming into the vehicle the best we can. I sit in between a flaming mad older brother and Calum.
