Jane's Point Of View:
I was in Maura's office. I was leaning against the wall while Maura pulled her black scrub top over her head.
"Have you told anybody?" I asked
"No. Have you?"
"No. I mean, do you think we should?"
"Can we just not, now?"
"Yeah whatever you want."
"I didn't want any of this." She said as she grabbed her case file and walked into the autopsy room. I let out a sigh before following behind Maura.
"Do you have anything on the victim?" I asked changing the subject.
"The results on the white powder was sodium bicarbonate."
"So baking soda. So Rachel was not snorting cocaine."
"She has a fracture on her ankle. It seems to be about two years old." Maura said before my phone buzzed.
"It's Korsak he has something." I said and left without any other words.
Maura's Point Of View:
I was a little harsh on Jane. I feel bad, but I have a right to be mad, and sad. She just gave up on us. Part of that is my fault, but I wanted to fix things. Maybe this will be good for us. A fresh start, a new beginning. But I don't think I could ever stop loving Jane. That is the first civil conversation we have had In a week. My thoughts were interrupted by the doors swinging open. I looked up and frowned when I saw detective Frost instead of Jane.
"Hello, detective." I said giving him a smile
"Hey Doctor Isles." He replied flashing me his white teeth.
"Are you finished with the tox screen?" He asked
"Yes they are right here." I replied grabbing the file off the counter and handing it to him.
I looked down back to the body, waiting for the sound of the door to close. When the door didn't close i looked back up to see Frost still staring at me.
"Is there something else?" I asked confused on why he is still here.
"Are you okay? You seem different." He asked
"I'm fine." I lied
"Hives Maura." He said
"Me and Jane are splitting up." I blurted
"I'm here. If you want to talk."
"Thank you." I replied
"So...talk" he said and I let out a laugh.
"I messed up big time. I'm about to lose the love of my life. And I don't know what to tell Sophia. She keeps say 'when will mommy come home' I don't know what to say." I complained
"I'm sorry I shouldn't be throwing this all at you." I apologized
"It's fine, you need someone to talk to."
"Thank you." I said
Sorry it's such a short and terrible chapter. I have a huge writers block and I'm in the middle of finals.
