Maura's Point Of View:
It's the last week of this break. I don't really know how I feel. I've noticed that Jane has been having a lot of fun lately. I haven't seen her smile so big since the day I gave birth to Sophia. I think this is gonna be good for us. It will be like a fresh start, I hope we can get through this. I don't know what I will do without Jane. She is my everything.
I just got home with Sophia, and there is no sign of Jane.
"Mommy, we aren't you and momma talking anymore?" Sophia asked
"Me and momma are just taking a little break from each other." I replied hoping my six year old would understand.
"Is momma gonna leave?"
"Who told you that?"
"Well my friend from school said that her mommy and daddy where fighting a lot, then her daddy moved to an apartment, now Lacey only sees her daddy on the weekends." She said her eye tearing up. I got down eye level, and pulled her into a hug.
I made Sophia dinner, then got her dressed in her Olaf footy pajamas. She laid down on her bed, then I laid the covers over her tired body. I kissed her forehead, and turned on her Hello Kitty night light.
"Goodnight." I said as I closed her door half way.
I stayed up till about 10pm in hopes on seeing Jane, but she didn't come home. I started to worry, what If she was in trouble and I didn't know cause of this stupid break. I headed up to bed after I lost hope of seeing Jane. I laid in bed and started to think about what Sophia said about her friend's parents. I hope this isn't the end for us. I closed my eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.
Jane's Point Of View:
I was in the bullpen room working on the case that we still haven't got a break in, when Maura walked in.
"Jane, can I speak to you?" She asked. I nodded my head and we stepped into the hall.
"Okay so we live in the same house, so I know when you don't come home. I know we aren't supposed to talk unless it is an emergency, but what if something happened and I couldn't get a hold of you?" Maura said obviously concerned about why i didn't come home.
"Frost, Frankie, and I stayed late to work on this case." I simply said
"I checked the log book for your name." She said putting her hand on her hips.
"So now your stalking me?"
"I didn't know where you were!"
"Frost, Frankie, and I went to the Dirty Robber, and discussed the case, and Frankie didn't want to drive home because he thought I was too drunk so I stayed at his place."
"Oh."
"Now can I get back to my case?" I asked annoyed
"Yeah, sorry." She said walking to the elevator.
I walked back into the bullpen room, and sat at my desk.
"Everything okay?" Korsak asked
"She was jealous. Do you know how it feels to have someone think your cheating on them? It feels nice." I laughed
"It's not the healthiest." Korsak said
"I mean she was worried, she cares. Does this mean this thing could actually be working?" I asked
"Jane, I hope you and Maura can figure this out." Korsak said before walking out of the bullpen room.
It's the final day of our break, and me and Frost went to the Dirty Robber again.
"You know I have to say, thank you." I said to Frost
"For what?"
"Well you have really distracted me from this whole break. I remembered that I am still a person not just a mother and wife. You reminded me how to...have fun again. I haven't had this much fun in so long. On top of that, I have been focusing a lot more on this case. So, thank you."
"You're welcome, Jane. Even if you and Maura get through this, I will always need someone to have a drink with."
"Me too." I said as I grabbed my keys and headed for my car.
When I got home, Maura was sitting at the table filing out case files. She kept rubbing her neck, clearly in pain. I snuck up behind her, and I massaged her neck.
"Jane..."
"Shh not talking." I whispered in her ear and kissed down her neck.
"Mmmmm" Maur moaned as she stood up and faced me. We made our way to the bedroom shredding our clothes on the way, and I laid her on the bed.
"Jane, the break isn't over." She moaned out breathlessly.
"Close enough, right?"
"Right." She said as I trailed kisses down her body.
