"Ali!!" Parker ran up to me. "Carly told me about your idea! It's great, oh my god can I participate in the contest?" He was talking fast.

I laughed, while holding the flyers. I handed him one. "Of course. It's open to anyone."

"Yes!" He cheered. "Anyway, time for my surprise. Jordan, come here."

Jordan walked over with a cheeky smile. "So, we need a Santa." He said.

"And that would be why I'm here." Another man walked up. The first thing I noticed was his blue eyes. Wow.

"Who's this?" I asked.

"Ali, meet my buddy Liam. He's from Chicago. He decided to come down for the holiday and thought he would help. He's our Santa." Parker smiled.

"Wow, Chicago?" I asked and Liam nodded. "It snows there a lot, doesn't it?" I asked again.

"Yeah, it's annoying." He laughed.

"I wish I could see snow oh my god it sounds so cool." I awed.

"You'll have to visit sometime." He let out a little laugh. "Guys, I'm gonna need some elves if I'm Santa." He said.

"And that's why I called the Canadians." Jordan smiled. And two people walked up behind him.

Parker squealed. "Rush rush! Mitch!" He hugged the two boys. "Ali, this is Brayden and Mitch. They're from Canada."

"You have a lot of friends from outside the state." I said.

He shrugged. "Would you believe me if I said I had friends in the UK and Australia?" Parker laughed.

"Probably not. But I will." I winked.

"Happy holidays guys!" One of the boys said. I think it was Brayden.

"Thanks for coming down on such short notice." Jordan fist bumped them both.

"No problem. Our friends in need? We're here." Mitch smiled.

"I'll catch up with you later, Parker. I've gotta pass out these flyers and give my dad a call." I smiled. "There's a Santa suit and elf costumes in another room. Ask Carly and she'll show you. She's probably also got a way to take pictures and get them to kids that want to meet Santa. Thanks everyone!" I said and walked to where I told my group to meet.

"Did you get the flyers?" A girl asked once I arrived.

I nodded "Yup, here, take a stack. Pass them out, hang them up, it'll be great." I said.

"Thanks!" She said, very enthusiastically, and ran off and started passing them out to people she passed.

"Ali?" I heard. "Hey, it's Parker. Open your door." He was outside of my apartment.

I didn't say anything but I continued hugging my pillow and letting tears fall down my cheek.

"Carly told me you went home. I told her I wanted to know why. She gave me your address. Please let me in." He knocked slightly.

I contemplated for a second and knew I would regret this later, but I stood up and unlocked the door, opening it a little.

I threw myself back on the couch and threw my blanket overtop of my body so he couldn't see my face. Parker shut the door and sat on the ground next to where my face was.

"Hey, want to talk?" He asked.

I shook my head and let out a muffled "no."

"Okay. Want me to distract you with a story? I don't like seeing you cry." He said. That warmed my heart a bit. Someone cares.

"Yes." It was also muffled.

"Alright. So you know Minecraft? Like, the game I play?" He asked. I nodded. "And you know all my friends that have been showing up over the past couple of days?" He asked and I nodded again. "I met mainly most of those people through Minecraft. I record videos with them, I talk to them through Skype and TeamSpeak, I never really get to see them in person. And you know what's cool?"

I lifted my head up so my answer wasn't muffled. "What?"

"We've all hung out earlier and they said that you're really cool. You are Cube approved." He said.

"Cube?" I asked.

"That's what our group is called." I could tell he was smiling.

"Oh, that's cool, well, all your friends are Ali approved." I tried to joke with him, but still felt really bad.

"Will you tell me what's wrong?" He asked.

"Do I have to?" I felt another tear fall down my cheek as I looked up at him.

"I have a surprise for you. But I can't decide if I should tell you now, or wait until Christmas." He changed the subjects. Probably because he didn't want to pressure me into telling him anything.

"Tell me in the middle. On the twelfth of thirteenth." I said. "That way, you're not too early, and not too late." I smiled.

"Good idea!!" He ruffled my hair. "Oh! By the way, I brought peppermint ice cream to cheer you up." He said.

I sat up and saw him hand me a spoon as he opened up the ice cream. "I can get bowls." I offered with a giggle.

"Nah, it's much more fun to eat right from the container." He smiled, taking his spoon and putting it into the ice cream and eating what was on his spoon.

After a few minutes of eating ice cream, I decided to tell him. "My dad hasn't been feeling the best lately, and today, he passed out and had to call an ambulance. He's okay now, but it just scared me, that one day I'm not going to have my dad. And it made me really upset, because I've been so lucky to have him and my mom, it's just-"

"Scary." Parker finished. "Yeah, hey, Ali, it's gonna be okay." He gave me a hug. "I hope you know that you can talk to me and I won't judge you, or do anything to make you feel bad. I'm your friend." Parker smiled.

"Thank you, Parker." I said and we both took another bite of ice cream.
