"December nineteenth, the mall is hosting the winter talent show! Sign up now and make sure to come down for a festive day filled with fun and you'll meet new people!" I said as I was passing out flyers on the street. I have been doing this for an hour now and, honestly, I'm sick of it.

My phone buzzed and I groaned as I pulled it out of my pocket. You've been advertising all day. I'm here to tell you that I'm taking that off your shoulders for like, an hour, because I want a cheeseburger and decided why not take my best friend Ali with me.

I laughed at the message. When where and do I have to drive? I sent back.

"Anywhere you want, now, and no." Someone said from behind me. It scared the heck out of me, but when I turned around and saw Parker, I burst out laughing.

"Parker!" I screamed at him, and he just laughed.

"I scared you, eh?" He asked, giving me a hug.

"Just a little." I lightly laughed.

"So, lunch?" Parker said. "I'm hungry."

"Let's go." I smiled. He led me into the mall so he could go tell Jordan where we were headed and asked to make sure he was good with watching over everything.

Which he was, and I swear we passed by every one of Parker's friends.

"Hey Ali, Parker!" Tybzi smiled, with Sean following behind.

We passed by the Santa and elves area, where there was actually quite a line. Of course, the elves waved to us, and 'Santa' sent a smile.

We managed to run into Zach and someone I had yet to meet, (Parker said his name was Ryan) and they both have off warm smiles, but there wasn't much time for talking since thy were busy carrying things around, helping the mall out. I think they were going to work on decorating the talent show stage.

Lainey was decorating the tree with some other Parker friends who had gotten here this morning. I wanted to introduce myself, but I've been busy. Parker says they are "Mark, Stacy, Will and John."

I think it's really cool that he has this many people as his friends and knows they can count on each other. I mean, some of them came from Canada. Crazy.

"Ali?" Parker laughed as he shook his hand in front of my face. "Earth to Ali?"

"I'm here!" I shook my head and was back in reality.

"You okay?" He asked.

I nodded. "Just caught in my thoughts."

"So, where to for lunch?" Parker smiled as he changed the subject.

"Anywhere you'd like." I smiled as he opened the car door for me.

-----

"He said yes!" I told the group.

"Wait, wait, really!" Lainey was so excited.

"Yes!" I squealed. "The owner said it would be an amazing idea!" I smiled.

"Ali, that's amazing!" Parker said.

"What's amazing?" Jordan walked up.

"Carly said the owners approved our idea of having the homeless in the mall for Christmas day!" I cheered. "The only thing is, he's not really able to be here since he'll be with his family. But he said if we wanted to hang around and do some nice things, it would be amazing. He really liked the idea." I explained.

"I'll definitely be here." Lainey said. "We should cook a turkey!" She added.

I laughed a bit. "We'll get to deciding food later. We need to figure out how many people were gonna have, and how many of us are going to be here." I said.

"I can take care of figuring out how many people we're going to have here. You figure out from the group who's going to spend the day here?" Lainey smiled.

I smiled back. "Sounds good."

"Great! I'll get right on finding some people to come to celebrate with us." And she walked away.

I turned to Parker with a smile on my face. He put a finger up to my mouth before I could speak. "I'll be here."

I laughed a little. "Thanks man."

"I'll be here too." Jordan butted in.

"This is great!" I said.

"Oh, Ali, I want you to meet some more of my friends." Parker said as I saw a small group of people walk up. "This is Ryan, Mark, John, and Stacy."

"Hi Ryan, Mark, John, and Stacy. I'm Ali." I smiled.

Stacy gave a warm smile. "So nice to meet you!"

"As to all of you!" I said. "Where are all of you from, out of curiosity?" I asked, trying not to come off as weird.

"I'm from Chicago." Mark smiled and shook my hand.

"Utah, but I used to live here in LA." Stacy explained.

"Canada." Ryan smiled.

"Also, LA." John said last.

"Wow, that's so cool. I've lived in LA all my life, I love hearing about people coming from other places." I awed.

"Ali!" Someone called.

"Better get going. Nice to meet all of you." I said and started to walk away.

"Ali, before you go," Stacy began. "I'll definitely be here on Christmas."

I smiled. "Thank you."

I ran over to where Tybzi was standing where he had called me. "Yes?" I asked.

"We have a problem." He said, in a defeated tone.

"Oh no, what is it?" I asked.

"You look like you need a hug, that's the problem." Tybzi sighed.

I smiled. "Yeah, maybe I do." I said.

"Do I have permission to fulfill your needed hug?" He asked.

I nodded. "Permission granted."

And I swear, it was one of the nicest hugs I've had in a long time. Minus my dad's, he gives great hugs. But I haven't seen my dad in so long, so Tybzi currently gives the best hugs.

I'm just glad Parker's friends seem to like me.
