"I think we're almost done." I said over the phone.

"That's amazing, darling. What you're doing should really help out the mall a ton." Mom said.

"Yeah, I'm really excited." I awed.

"What's left to do?" She asked.

"Uh," I thought for a second. "The tree. That's taking a long time because we keep running into issues with it. Also, the stage. Some of the guys are being very indecisive." I said and she let out a little laugh. "I've gotta learn how to cook a turkey, and one of the girls is still trying to find some guests." I said.

"Guests?" Mom asked.

And I went into explaining what our plan was for Christmas Day. Which she also thought, was an amazing idea.

"So, I talked to Carly the other day, about the mall actually. She says you're working side by side with a boy?" I could tell she was cocking an eyebrow. My mother is so snoopy, she's worse than me. And one year I opened up every birthday present I was going to get by just a little and tried to tape it back on.

I sighed. "He's cool. His name is Parker, and he's called in a bunch of his friends from all over North America to help, ever since we lost most of our volunteers." I said, and I noticed a smile come across my face.

"Wow. Sounds like a nice boy." And there is was, the sarcastic suggestive tone that asked if I was going to date him.

I ignored the tone. "Yeah, his friends are really cool. Since we couldn't find a Santa to hire, one of them said he'd do it, along with two guys for the elves. And one of them gives hugs like dads, and they're all just so nice." I said.

"And Parker?" She continued.

"As I've said mom, he's cool. We're friends." I smiled into the phone.

She groaned. "Call me when you guys start dating." She joked.

"I gotta get going actually, I'm meeting up with some people for dinner." I explained.

"Oooooh! Parker?" Mom said.

I noticed my cheeks began to get pink. "I'm leaving, mom. Bye, I love you!" I said.

She laughed. "Love you too." And we hung up.

I originally called my mom to see how dad was doing. And after she said he was doing well, she got into talking about my life. And apparently, Carly is hiding something. But it's not my place to say anything.

And of course, I used the dinner excuse to get off the phone, but I've been ready for an hour now. It wasn't like we were dressing up or anything, so I just had on some navy blue jeans and a red shirt with snowflakes.

I soon got a text from Parker. We outside yo apartment building. If you want food you bettah come out and get in the car with wiam, tybz, and me.

As I laughed at the text and grabbed my jacket, I typed a reply. What in the world are you doing? Are you trying to talk like a stereotypical gangster?

I smiled as I got a reply and headed into the elevator. *crosses arms and makes peace signs*

I didn't reply as I was going to see him in a matter of seconds. And of course, when I walked out of the building and saw Parker's car, he was doing the pose he had just texted me. And meanwhile, Tybzi and Liam were cracking up about it.

I got into the car, sitting next to Liam as Parker was in the drivers seat and Tybzi was in the passengers.

"Hey Ali!" Tybzi raised his voice and sounded very excited.

"Hey guys." I smiled at all three of them. "Is anyone else coming?" I asked.

"Nah, they've got other plans." Liam said. "So you're stuck with us!" And gave me a side hug with a huge smile.

"Ew, you guys are making me hang out with...Parker?" I pretended to be discussed.

At this, Parker just smiled. "I can't believe you guys are making me talk to her." Parker joked.

Liam laughed. "Just shut up and date already."

And I kid you not, at the exact same time, Parker and I each said "Ew."

"Awe!" Tybzi squealed. "You guys are perfect for each other!"

I slapped his arm and that was the last of that.

We ended up at some random restaurant that I didn't know much about, but Parker loved.

I just ordered a cheeseburger and I realized I didn't really pay attention to what everyone else got, I was having too much fun chatting and hanging out to notice.

"So, place you want to visit?" Tybzi asked. We were just asking random questions and it was his turn to ask me.

"London in the winter. That's where I want to go for my birthday, which is on Christmas so hence why I want to go in the winter." I quickly explained.

"That's cool." Liam said. "Now, ask me!"

"Uh, color you wish you could get rid of?" I asked.

"Uh, uh, uhmmm, ugh! I like colors!" He argued.

"You have to answer." Parker said.

"I knowwwww." Liam said. "Uh, ugly baby puke green?" He said.

I laughed. "That works."

After dinner and many questions, I offered to hang out at my place. I don't get visitors often, and when I do I like to make the best of it. So, we all hung out at mine.

And somehow, I don't even know how, Liam got to paint Parker's toenails. They're weird, but you can tell that they'll be best friends for as long as they live.

That's the type of friendship I wish I had
