"Ali, Ali." Someone was shaking me.

"Huh? What?" I looked around the unfamiliar room. And once my eyes focused, I found Parker.

"I had a feeling you'd be here." Parker sighed.

Then I remembered where I was, and stood up quickly. "Hey, dad." I said and strolled over to his bedside. He was fast asleep, and was getting paler by the hour. I could see the life fading out of him, and it hurt. I'm only nineteen, it's not time for my dad to go. I don't know what il do without him. I couldn't stand being in that room any longer, and once I felt a tear go down my cheek, I ran out of the room.

"Ali!" Parker called after me and followed. "What's-what's wrong?" He asked, giving me a hug.

"I don't know how I'm going to live, after he passes, Parker, I'm so scared. What am I going to do?" I said, I was trying to hold back the tears.

"Ali, shh, it's going to be okay. I'll be here with you the entire time. I promise. And you've got a bunch of friends who are only a phone call away." Parker didn't release the hug, and it didn't seem like he was going to.

"Par-Parker I don't think I can be here anymore today." I told him in a hushed voice, still holding back tears.

"Then let's get out of here." He told me. "I'll treat you to a nice day, and we can get these ad thoughts out of your mind for at least a few hours."

I smiled a bit. "That would be nice."

"Do you want to see your dad before we go?" He made sure to ask.

I nodded, not saying anything. And we both walked back to the room.

-----

"What is this place?" I laughed a bit.

"Patience, young grasshopper." He told me. "We're also going to me hashtag jyan there too. I decided to invite someone else so we aren't alone."

I laughed. "It's like a double date!" Joking.

I looked at Parker for a second and he looked down a bit and his cheeks got some more color in that pale face.

"You okay?" I asked him.

He nodded. "Yeah, just thinking." Parker nodded and kept his eyes on the road.

And soon enough, we were in a parking lot for what looks like a fair. "Woah." I said, having a major flashback.

"What?" He asked.

"I haven't been to one of these in years." I awed. "I used to come here with my parents, a couple times a year, actually."

"What changed?" Parker asked, locking eyes with me.

I shrugged. "My mothers work picked up, and my dad wasn't able to move around as easy. It's nice to be back, thank you." I smiled at him as we started to walk towards the entrance.

Someone had engulfed me into a hug from behind, and once I heard the laugh I knew who it was.

"Hey, Jessie." I smiled.

"Ali! Aren't you so excited!" She was very cheerful, and all four of us walked in. Parker and Ryan were ahead of us and we were in our own little conversations.

"Yeah, I love the fair!" I replied.

"Not that!" She slapped my shoulder. "You're basically on a date with Parker!" Jessie got a little quieter.

"I don't think we're on a date." I laughed a bit.

"You guys definitely are. Why else would have he invited Ryan and I, a couple, to come with you two?" She raised and eyebrow and skipped up to stand next to Ryan, and grabbed his hand.

Which quickly made Parker start walking next to me.

"Oh my gosh, look at it!" Jessie squealed, pointing to a plush hanging off one of the game stands. "I want it so bad, Ry, like, it has to be mine." She told him.

"I'm so horrible at these things." Ryan groaned. "You'd do so much better than me trying to win it for you."

"Who said you had to win it for me?" Jessie asked, pulled a dollar out of her pocket, and handed it to the man behind the stand. He gave her three balls to throw at the three milk jugs, and she knocked them all over in one throw. But that wasn't to get what she wanted. Second stage. She won. Third stage. Missed one.

"Pay two dollars to continue where you left off!" The carnie said.

Ryan smiled. "For her." He said, and the carnie handed Jessie three more balls.

And in one more shot, Jessie had won what she wanted.

"HELL YEAH!" Jessie yelled as she was handed the giant bear.

"Ali, come here. Let's leave the love birds to be." Parker giggled a bit and we said goodbye, saying we would meet up for dinner.

"Ohmygosh!" Parker squealed. "Let's play this!" He said and ran up to a stand. It was one of those shoot the clown thing with water. I laughed and told him that I was all for it.

He paid for me and I say down next to him. "You're going down." I smiled at Parker.

"No!" Parker argued back, a big smile on his face.

And truth be told, I won.
