Ever since I was a little girl I had wished, every year, that for my birthday it would snow. I mean, technically I was wishing for snow on Christmas too. I was one of the lucky people to be born on Christmas.

Ah, sarcasm. Being born on a holiday sucks. Everyone always asks the same questions, how many presents do you actually get? Isn't it so much fun!

One, it's especially hard to plan birthday parties anywhere near to the twenty-fifth, so much traveling and everyone's leaving to spend time with family. I always had to do it in January.

Two, no, I don't get extra presents. So, I got robbed, basically.

And wouldn't you expect it to have snowed once by now, on Christmas, after nineteen years?

Not when you live in LA, I guess. There was a slight chance last year, but we got basically the smallest amount possible, and only in the upper state of California.

Fake snow is as close as I'll ever get to it. After all these years, we've never gone out of state for my birthday/Christmas. Lately, I've started to lose hope in snow.

December first was the day I feared most. I sighed as I walked into the mall and expected to see all of the winter decorations. Ads to meet Santa, reindeer pulling a sleigh, a huge tree decorated in gold bulbs and white lights, fake snow everywhere. It was all kind of annoying, especially after nineteen years of seeing it basically every day in December.

I came to the mall a lot, and still do. When I was younger, my mom had a shop in the mall and I would come with her every day in December. As winter is my favorite season, she always took me fun places everyday that months. Of course, it was after work ended. But honestly, I was so done with all these decorations. There is never anything new. Boring and annoying, every year.

But as I walked in, I saw that my thoughts were wrong.

"Hello Ali!" The manager for the mall stores called. I've known her for years, it's not weird that she knows me.

"What's- where's all the decorations?" I asked, confused. As much as they annoyed me, it made me sad to see kids walking around with sad voices and asking their parents where Santa was and when would he be arriving. Maybe they weren't as bad as they thought.

She, Carly, sighed. She seemed really upset. "Look, I need your help." She said. "We're in trouble, yeah? Lately, the mall hasn't been doing that well and was almost shut down. And of course, the person who's in charge of all the malls around here came and said that it lacked holiday spirit. I don't know what to do, if we don't get holiday spirit in here by the twentieth, they could even put our mall on supervision! You know that they've been giving all the malls the requested code, and we've missed a few. The date for this is the twentieth and if we don't have it, we could be in some deep trouble because of all the codes we missed. This is our last chance, and I need your help!" Carly said in a frantic matter.

"You know I'd help." I smiled at her.

She quickly pulled me into a hug and began thanking me profusely.

"Just, tell me, do I have to do this alone?" I asked, maybe I would regret this.

"Oh dear god no." Carly laughed. "Look, I've got a few people to help out. I put you and another boy I recruited in charge. Here's his contact information if for some reason you need to contact him. The decoration comity has like, ten people, and I think you guys are great for the job so-"

"Thanks Carly. When do we get together?" I asked.

She smiled. "Well," she began and let out a little laugh. "You see, I told the other one in charge that he could meet you tomorrow so, could you both meet up here tomorrow? We've decided that the whole group would start meeting Thursday and meet almost daily. You do not understand how important this is to the mall, and the community!" She stressed.

I closed my eyes and smiled at her. "Okay. I'll be here tomorrow. Text me what time. I need new jeans for this." I said and she laughed as I began heading to my favorite store.

Oh, what have I gotten myself into.

(Just as a funny; i started to write this book in October, because lord knows I'm horrible at updating regularly the day of)

But without further a do, here's the book! I hope you enjoy it and if you enjoyed the first day, please leave a vote! Thank you all for reading and I'll see you tomorrow!

Keep smiling because it looks great on you.
