Sitting, sitting, worrying, worrying.

That's all I've done for the past few hours. Waiting and worrying. Nothing else I can do.

So here I sit, in the waiting room of the hospital with my head on Parker's shoulder and Jordan sitting on the other side of me for moral support.

Dads in surgery. They don't really know what's wrong with him, but he needed surgery. So I decided that visiting the hospital was the best choice, and Parker and Jordan insisted they came along.

The doctor soon came out and walked with us to dads room. "How did the surgery go?" Parker asked for me, since I was speechless. This was all too much.

"I regret to inform you, Miss James," The doctor looked at me, "We spectate that he may only have a month left."

"Here come the water works." I said and tears began to pour down my face. I wasn't even making much noise, I'm a silent crier, so I just turned around and Jordan gave me a hug.

"Hey, it's gonna be okay. You've got me and Parker; you've got your mom, you've got Carly, you've got all of us. We're all here for you." Jordan said.

"T-th-thank you guys." I stuttered out.

Before anything else was said, my phone rang. And I managed to see the time, it was already three-thirty. "Crap," I said, before answering the phone. "Carly oh my gosh I'm so sorry I missed it-"

"Ali! It's okay. You're with your dad and I wasn't even calling about the inspection. How's your dad?" She interrupted me.

"Not good." I sighed. "How did the inspection go?" I asked, hoping to change the subject.

"Thanks to you and Parker and all the friends, we passed!!" She squealed. "He said he even came out for the talent show yesterday and thought you did an amazing job! He wanted to speak with the people who headed the program, but I told him you both were out. So he's coming back tomorrow, can you guys manage to be here?" She pleaded.

"I'm so glad we passed. And yeah, I have to be there tomorrow, I promised to help Liam, Brayden, and Mitch out at the Santa station." I told her.

"Great! Huh? Yeah, be right there. Sorry Ali, I have to get going, I hope your dad feels better!" She quickly said.

"Bye." I sighed as she hung up.

"What was that about?" Jordan asked.

"Carly was telling me how the mall passed the inspection." I told him, then I remembered. They've been texting, I keep seeing their messages come up on his phone....what?

"Oh, and Parker, we have to be at the mall tomorrow. The inspector wants to talk to us." I said and he nodded.

"Got it." He replied. "Anyone want to go for lunch? I'm starving." Parker began to whine.

"Let's go!" Jordan said and I smiled as we walked out of the hospital. "We'll come back after he's out of surgery, don't worry." He smiled at me, and I nodded.

"I'm driving!" Parker yelled. "I'm going to show you guys my favorite spot."

-----

"But like, what do I even have to do?" I laughed while I was on the phone with Liam.

"I dunno I just decided I needed a reason to get you back in the mall and smiling, since the project is finished." Liam said.

"Ugh, fine." I laughed. "Will you be at the mall on Christmas? I've still have to find out from Lainey if she got the flyers passed out."

"Of course I'll be there!" Liam said. "And Lainey told me today that she was going to be at the mall tomorrow helping someone out, so it shouldn't be too hard to find her."

"Thanks Liam." I smiled, even though he couldn't see me.

"So, what do you want for your birthday?" Liam asked.

"Nothing." I replied. It was true, I didn't want anything, and Parker even got me snow. I didn't need anything.

"Oh come on." Liam complained. "Nothing?"

"Nothing." I replied, throwing myself into my bed.

"Ugh, you're no use." Liam groaned. "So, are you going to need help with cooking before the big celebration on Christmas?" He asked.

"Uh, maybe." I shrugged.

"Because i would love to help cook." He replied.

"I'll send you details once I figure it out for myself." I smiled, even though he couldn't see me.

"Cool, I gotta get going, but I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?" He said.

"Definitely." I said. And after we said our goodbyes, we hung up. And hat perfect timing we has, as I received a text from Ryan as soon as we got off call.
