(Ryan's perspective)I didn't even bother looking at everyone else. I knew what they were thinking, I knew what they wanted to say, but too scared to say it. I needed to talk to Icas, he's been trying to find out why Maia is suddenly eight-teen now, and why she can't remember me. Hopefully he was here, because I would be pretty upset if he wasn't. She didn't trust me, she didn't even bother to come back with me. Wasn't she a little bit interested? For now, I just don't want to talk to her. I mean, the first time I met her, she was perfect, she didn't know me then and she came with me. Although her life was rough then, and I bet she just did it to escape everything. I glanced at Bella who was walking slowly, dragging her feet through the leaves that could alert the whole forest we were coming. I watched Mason slowly jog up to her, as he took her hand gently. Bella looked up rather nervously, as Mason gently pecked her on the forehead.
I sighed heavily, they were just better. They were meant for each other. Were Maia and I meant for each other? I don't even know any more. Everyone was growing closer, it was scary. Things were getting serious, and fast. I looked back to Amy and Jackson, to see Amy reaching Jackson's hand nervously. Jackson just smiled. Neither of them unlocked fingers. I nodded slightly to myself, I don't know what to do. I need to stop spending my time worrying over Maia. I need to take a break from her, I need to stop thinking about her. It's just same old love. Once we reached the Manor, I was too tired to even go near the door and open it. I made Madison walk past me in anger and open it for us. When I passed her, Madison gave me an odd look. It looked sympathetic, not furious. I know she never liked Maia, I just hope she understands how frustrating it is to lose someone you love.
I never even realized how much I loved her, but I do. "Let's go find Icas." Mason muttered to me, guiding me away from everyone staring. I probably looked like this depressed boy, who couldn't handle everything around him. I probably looked tired, I was tired. I haven't slept for days. I followed Mason through the hallways and towards the library. I was walking so slow that sometimes Mason had to turn and push me forward. I didn't have energy to do anything. I barley even moved when Mason pushed me, all I did was smile. He cares and he knows what I'm going through. I wonder it feels like, to see your love turn into some monster, and get shot. Bella and Amy didn't even mind their wounds, Madison was probably fixing them up now. I'm getting worried about them, what if they do turn into something? I'm sure its not going to happen, but what if it does? I finally noticed the library doors, Mason opening the doors for me slowly. I didn't have the energy to say "Thank you", It's two simple words and I can't say them. My mouth didn't even move.
I walked down the stairs slowly, tripping on some of the stairs. I stumbled forward once I reached the bottom, I almost had to bring my hands out in front of me to stop me from falling. "A little tired are we now?" Icas glared from across the room. I didn't bother to answer, I didn't have the energy to argue. How am I even standing? "Find anything?" Mason asked for me. I looked at Icas's books, he had about five books open and scattered over the table. "Yes," Icas started, pointing to a book. "When we were in the Underworld, we were there for roughly about two months. When we came back to the real world, two months equals two years." Icas said, looking at me directly. I didn't even know when my birthday was, so I didn't care really. "And Maia?" I asked rather quietly. I couldn't even hear myself speak. Mason and Icas looked at me shocked, like I learned my first words. "Um, well, I figured out that I shouldn't have used the spell. When I used the spell, her brain had already stopped swelling and she was actually going to wake up in a few days. But, since I used it, I guess it caused her brain to lose some of her memory." Icas narrowed his eyes. "Great help." I muttered. I slowly turned away from Mason and Icas, I could feel their burning stares on me.
"Where's Maia?" Icas suddenly asked. I didn't bother to stop, but I heard Mason scolding Icas quietly. "Ryan, where are you going?" Mason called from down below. I froze, I didn't even realize I walked up the stairs and I was near the door. I didn't bother to answer, if he knew me better he knew what I was about to do. I slowly walked through the halls, heading in the direction of my bedroom. My mind was thinking of too many things. I just needed some sleep to clear it all. I walked through the halls faster, looking slightly to my right to see a picture. I didn't have to stop and look at it because I didn't care what it was. It was pretty silent on my way there, no one followed me, and I didn't bump into anyone on the way there. I opened my door slowly, as I slammed it closed behind me. I hurried towards my bed and collapsed. I buried my face into the pillow, as I closed my eyes slowly. I haven't shut them in so many days, it felt so refreshing.
