(Ryan's perspective)

I chuckled lightly at Madison's remark, as did everyone else except for Icas who just left a couple of seconds ago. It seemed she didn't know or even care that she was just bleeding out of a bed in the infirmary, once she woke up she was back to original self. Mason seemed happier which was good for everyone, especially Madison because if Mason was worried, Madison would get angry and impatient which no one really wanted to listen to. It had been a while now since Maia had left with Bella and Amy, I didn't know when she was returning or what they were talking about. "So, how are you feeling?" Jackson asked Madison. All she did was shrug, then a couple seconds later she added "I don't really care for the wound I have, I know I should care but I just think a wound for a girl is a sign of weakness." Madison muttered. I sighed slightly and remembered one day when we were just little kids, I was training with Madison and I had just accidentally threw my dagger at her arm instead on her jacket to pin the material to the wall. The blade had just skimmed her skin, but deep enough for just a small amount of blood to come to the surface.

I was just about to get help for her before she stopped me, she had told me in these exact words "Ryan, don't. I don't want Mason making a fuss or my parents, this wound will make my look weak and then they'll stop my training, if you tell someone I won't be able to become as strong. And I won't ever forgive you for that." So I didn't tell anyone. We had fixed up the small cut ourselves and told absolutely no one. Her parents back then were extremely nice to me since they brought me into their family, but then soon died after a couple of years later. I didn't seen the event happen, but all Mason told me was that Morren was responsible. Madison had soon become more independent after that, but still had her fun with Mason and I. Some nights I would catch her crying, she would refuse to be comforted but I refused to leave. Seeing her come this far is a miracle considering everything she went through. "Ryan, what are you thinking about?" Mason chuckled from across Madison's bed. "Oh, nothing." I stammered out nervously. "I've never seen him this nervous since the last time Icas taught us spells when we were just little." Madison grinned.

"Or he was just thinking about Maia." Jackson winked at me. I rolled my eyes at him and shoved him gently, muttering "I was not thinking about Maia." Jackson gave out a small whistle, as Mason chuckled "Oh, so now you're cheating on her?" I rolled my eyes and rubbed my face, "No, I'm not cheating on her. I'm not the kind of guy-" before I could finish Madison added in quietly "You look like the kind of guy." I glared at her, sighing "I would watch the big mouth of yours because I was her while you were recovering from your wound, like I've did many times." Madison rolled her eyes and muttered with a smile "I know I know, still a better brother than Mason." Mason hit her arm gently, rolling his eyes "He is not, although I would pick him over you anytime." Madison glared up at her brother as I chuckled, winking "I'm just irresistible." Jackson snorted "Sure, instead of boasting on our looks why don't we discuss on where the girls went?"

We all nodded, as I added "I saw Bella and them mouthing to each other a couple of times, it seems like they wanted a private talk." Mason looked at me with a slight frown "Should we go see how they are then?" Madison shook her head, muttering "If I know anything from being a girl, it's that girls hate being interrupted in a private talk. Especially by boys who are nosy." Jackson chuckled slightly, sighing out loud "Yea, we're all kind of nosy." I smiled and nodded in agreement. "So, do we just wait for them?" Mason asked Madison. Madison shrugged, suggesting to all of us "I could go check on them if you wanted, I'm a girl and I'll be most likely to be invited in instead of thrown away like an empty can." "Madison you're not allowed to get up, Icas said you just need rest. You'll be better by tomorrow." Mason said, slightly sternly. Madison rolled her eyes and I rubbed her arm soothingly, looking at her once she added "Last time I checked you were in charge around here."
