(Ryan's perspective)
It's real funny to watch someone pause for a moment like the whole world froze, then continue on like nothing ever happened. After she said something that sent daggers to my heart, then having karma stab her in the back. I don't know what she cares about any more, me or that her old friend is finally dead. I shouldn't say it but it's about time, I've never met the lady but I've seen her before. And she's old. I wonder if she died from something painless, or it was quick and simple. "She died fast right?" Maia asked, her voice not even cracking, not even a hint of a frown coming in. Last time I remembered, girls ball their eyes out when something like this happens. "I'm not sure, but from the wound it seems it was fast." Nathan responded. I never liked this guy, I'm not sure if Nathan likes Maia or not but I don't feel good about him. Maybe it was the way he talked, or walked or even the way he looked. But I just hate him with a burning passion.
Of course Maia and Nathan continued their senseless conversation, but I just tuned them out before they got into anything deeper from the talk. Now that I think about it, deep conversations about feelings seem irrelevant. What's the point? To have your hopes crushed from some disappointing news? Or to have your heart shattered from a couple of simple words a person can say. I could say that I wished it was simpler, many would say that. But it's too bad it can't be because you get hurt because of you. I chose the wrong person to stay with, and I picked the wrong time to share feelings. I should have just kept quiet, people get over things. Not easily, but it does happen. And that's what I'm going to do. I refuse to let Maia or anyone else hurt me, it's constantly annoying to be let down when your hopes are high. That side tracked quickly, but I guess it was something I had to get off my chest. People always say its good to let your feelings out, never hold them in. I break that rule a lot.
"Ryan!" Maia snapped so loud it made me flinch. Who knew she was powerful? "What?" I grumbled, rolling my eyes at her. "The ears of the side of your head, they work right?" She snapped, her voice covered with venom. "Yea, but they must be breaking because I'm hearing your whiny voice everyday." I smirk, raising a brow at her. If she wasn't furious with me before, she is now. "Fine, would it be easier if I just shut up?" She asked, her tone challenging as she crossed her arms. "Yes, it would be a hundred times easier." I sighed in relief, faking a smile at her. She chuckled slightly, before smiling at me. "Well too bad, nothing's easy to get." I rolled my eyes, "What did you and Nathan talk about?" I asked. "About Magnolia's death, not like you would care." She scoffed, making me chuckle. "There's that brain of yours." I chuckled, before turning around and walking off. "Where are you going?" She snapped. "Um, back? Away from you?" I shrugged my shoulders, shoving my hands into my pockets. "That's real nice, you jerk." She rolled her eyes, glaring at the floor and stormed past me.
"Shouldn't be calling me that honey." I muttered, glaring at the back of her head. "You're acting like Octavia." She mutters under her breath, making me chuckle. "And why do you think that?" I chuckled, raising my brow at her. "Because, whenever I'm not looking, she sends me a dirty glare. And I know that's what your doing." She said, raising her chin confidently. "What you have eyes on the back of your head?" I snapped, sending her another dirty glare. "Yes, you're definitely acting like her now." She chuckled, clearly amused from my frustration. I had to say something, I had to say something to make her upset and angry. It's the only way of making me feel better. "Speaking of Octavia, have you ever noticed how good looking she is?" I asked, trying to hide my grin. "You're not serious are you?" She lowered her voice, turning her head to look at me. I was successful. "I wouldn't have said it if I wasn't." I smirked, crossing my arms.
She remained silent after that, but I could tell she was bubbling with frustration. My smirk grew wider, do I feel better? I feel better. "She's perfect for you." She said after a while. "Think so?" I grinned, staring down at her. "Oh yea, she's the most revealing girl I've ever met. Perfect match." She said, making it my turn to sound angry. "Good, maybe I'll get something from her then. Not like there was anything for you to give me." I snapped, causing myself to get smacked in the face. "Better watch that mouth of yours." She snapped, the venom returning to her voice. I glared down at her, only to be met with another glare. "Did you really slap me?" I growled, watching a small smile on her face grow. "Yep, but you deserved it." She muttered, making me bite my lip. "Next time I see Octavia, I'm leaving with her." I muttered under my breath, my face only inches away from Maia's. "Only if you can impress her enough." She smirked slightly. "Oh Maia dear, knowing me I can have any girl wrapped around my finger in seconds." I smirked, drawing away from her.
