(Ryan's perspective)
I'll just take a small walk I said. I'll just pretend like nothing ever happened, that's what I said. Boy was I wrong. It's a long story, from running out, disappearing for the rest of the day. But that might seem like forever now. I'll just take a walk, far from a walk. A run, then a walk, then a surprise.

I hit her. You hit her. I hit her. Her. I'm dead, I'll die in seconds from the amount of anger that's passing through her body. She's crouching, maybe just processing what happened. Maybe she'll forgive you? Are you stupid? Wake up lover boy, it might take years, or even lifetimes to get this girl back again. I didn't know what I was doing, I just did it. I shouldn't have, but I did. Was I thinking? No. "Maia I-" I wanted to explain and tell her the truth but I couldn't. I shouldn't be speaking after what I just did. You hit a girl, that ruins your whole personality. It kills the gentlemen inside of you, Ryan.
I'm surprised by now I'm not on the floor, being choked to death. Slowly, very slowly, she stands. I notice her hands balled up into fists, making her look even more angrier. She takes on swift look over me, which still gets my heart going. What am I thinking? Seconds I was ruthless and my temper was higher than usual with her, now I'm growing lovey dovey? No. Think straight Ryan. I hear her inhale a quick breath of air, before leaving. I'm standing in complete shock, until reality comes back and makes me flinch from the amount of force that was pushed into her swing to close that poor poor door. She's going to spill everything. I can already picture her telling everyone, everyone how me, Ryan, hit her. If Bella hears that, I'm for sure a goner.
She's stronger than she looks. I look around wildly, if Mason hears about this, he'll be coming in any moment now. I roll my eyes and rush towards the door I've spotted in the corner with relief. I opened the door and literally jumped out, closing the door behind me quietly in case someone was already in the room looking for me. I sighed heavily, feeling like everything that's troubled me can be let out in one single breath. I'll just talk a walk. People do that when they have stuff on their mind, right? No one's here to make choices for me, so I can make them myself. If anyone has a problem with that, they can sue me.
It's been a while now, and I'm currently lost in thought. I don't know how to complete my question on why I had hit Maia. She was probably beyond furious with me, or her feelings for me probably broke. If she still had feelings for me. I don't know how I could think any more, everything seemed in slow motion and I wasn't sure if I should continue on with this. Every piece of a man had broke inside of me. I had gone against my most precious promise I had ever made, and followed after my father. How would my mother think? She would probably ignore me because it would be too disappointing to stand around me. Or even in the same room. By now, Maia has probably told everyone who I truly am. The guy who hit the girl.
Everyone in Irenic knows how strictly forbidden that is. When my mother was being abused, she wasn't the only mother in the city. Apparently, a couple of men had gotten together and made a deal they would abuse their wives for the money that they needed to pay off some charges there had been set before. The wives of course had started to give the money, not even realizing that it only encouraged the men further. Finally, the Counsellor at the time noticed the bruises on the women faces, either they limped, or flinched every time someone touched them. The Counsellor worked day and night to find out when these women were getting beaten. Until one of the women was brave enough to come forward and spill the truth. That woman was my mother. The Counsellor executed some of the men, but others lived and went to the Dark forest where the prison was. To spend the rest of their lives in a cell. That Counsellor was a smart man, but not wise enough to be fooled by his idiotic son who started all this mess.
