(Maia's perspective)

Was I dreaming? I only remember seconds of it, and the rest of it seeming like I was on a cloud. I wanted to believe it wasn't true and didn't happen, but the pain from my eye currently said something else. I lost my balance, I couldn't stand. I was now crouching on the ground, my eyes wide as I stared at the floor. Maybe if I don't cry, I won't feel it any more. I still felt like I couldn't feel my feet, hands or my whole body. I honestly thought I was on a cloud and this was a dream for a second. "Maia I-" He started, but luckily he cut himself off before I had to. I slowly lifted my shaky hand up, touching the stinging skin that surrounded my eye. I winced in pain once my finger made contact to my skin, and quickly slammed it back onto the ground. I stood up quicker than I thought, and the only emotion I felt was the anger burning through my blood.

He saw me standing up, strong and healthy. But I saw myself dying on the floor. I took once glance at Ryan. His eyes were wide, his face pale. I narrowed my eyes down to his hands, they looked like they were shaking uncontrollably. Serves him right. I didn't say a word, never bothered to. With one last breath, I turned and left. I left the room so quickly all my eyes saw was blurs. "Maia?-" Aurora's concerned voice distracted me, and made me come to a halt. She was now standing with wide eyes, along with Mason and Bella. To my relief, there was a mirror hanged on the wall in front of me. I looked at my sudden appearance. I looked terrible. My cheeks were shining, and to my guessing there must have been tears that escaped my eye without me noticing. I looked at my left eye where all the numbness came from. It wasn't even a surprise. The colours of blue and purple slowly tuned out my natural skin colour around my eye.

"Maia," Bella breathed, capturing my attention in seconds. She appeared in front of me, her eyes wide. "Did he hit you?" She whispered, raising my temper again. I didn't know what to say. I didn't know if I should tell the truth or not. My anger and frustration filled my mind with countless screams telling me to go back in there and confront him, to tell Bella the truth. And with that, my screams once again failed to take over me. I shook my head, a small chuckle escaping my lips. "No, I hit myself." I snapped sarcastically.

And then I was gone.

I had probably spent hours now, out in the sun and almost moon working hard to replace the city. Probably every man and woman were out here, except for the people that had to care for the injured or children. I don't know if it was just me, or every thought I had of Ryan just brought my day slower. It's like he was hammered into my mind, and no one, or anything could release him from my memory. Must I add, that's quite unfortunate. "Dear, you've worked all day. Give this job a rest." A woman I helped throughout the day gently suggested to me. I shot my head up, glancing at her. "Yes, I've been working all day. For a reason." I practically felt my blood boil underneath my skin.

"Yes dear, I know." She said sweetly, which increased my anger. "But you look all banged up and tired..." It's like she was detecting my anger and placed her words so carefully so that I wouldn't explode. I did, inside. I looked banged up, because of the only man on the Earth that's played with my emotions, woke up and decided this morning he would beat the crap out of an innocent girl. That made me mentally laugh. Innocent? No where close to that any more. "Yes, I'm completely aware of that." I cross my arms, secretly hoping she'll pick up the challenge throughout my tone. "Then go home." She said, slowly her patience. "I have no home." I smirk, making her sigh heavily. "Alright, well you can sleep on the street for all I care-" She said but was interrupted by Mason. And to think, I might actually would of had some excitement today.

"Sorry miss, I'll just be taking my friend." He forced a smile, gripping my arm and dragging me away. "Oh Mason, no need to interrupt. I don't know about her, but I found it amusing for an old lady to lose her patience so quickly." I muttered, staring up at him with a smirk. "Just shut up. I don't see anything for you to be proud of from that conversation. She was about to snap, and if she did it wouldn't be good for you." He muttered quietly, walking quickly down the street with a tight grip on my arm, making people stop and stare. Huh, who knew I would say those words. I thought if I ever said that I would be back at home, walking into school with a potentially hot looking boyfriend. All a girl can do is dream. "What? Is she going to punish me by not giving me her famous snicker doodle cookies for a week?" I snicker, rolling my eyes. This is a complete useless topic, and why with him? "Joke all you want." He snapped, making me chuckle slightly.
