(Ryan's perspective)
This is dreadful. I'm just glad that we came prepared, ready to come and save Irenic from falling. The men and woman who are counted as guards for Irenic, have no idea what's going on. I do, as well as my own team. I was currently with Madison, Jackson and Amy. While Mason and Bella were with Aurora. The plan was quite simple, Aurora, Mason and Bella were going to follow Kia into the house she was hiding it, and hopefully kill some guards on the way. While, Jackson, Amy, Madison and I were going to follow her assistant, he will most likely lead us to her. In the house, we'll find our own way around. Then we'll come together and help each other see when Kia will pass by, then I will throw a throwing knife at her. Aurora suggested the throwing knives, and luckily she had some we could use. The plan was, to execute Kia. She had done way too much to everyone, to Irenic.
"Ready?" I addressed everyone, panting slightly as I listened to the distant terrified screams and the burning flames. "Ready." They all responded, getting their weapons ready. "Okay, let's go." I said, watching Mason take Bella's hand and keeping her at his side as they both followed Aurora, turning the corner then disappeared. I sighed, before turning to everyone else and motioned for them to follow me. I peered around the corner, looking back at the log pile where my uncle's coffin lay, seeing Kia's assistant crouching down by the coffin. I squinted my eyes to see what he was doing, but I couldn't get past the flames. "What's taking so long?" Amy asked me from behind, sounding slightly irritated. "Nothing." I muttered, shaking my head as I slowly began to walk forward, feeling their presence behind me. I walked towards Kia's assistant and watched him stand up, turning slightly to the right and disappeared into the darkness.
"Ryan, hurry up." Jackson sighed and jogged after Amy who followed the assistant. "Ryan." Madison breathed out, making me turn around to face her. "What?" I asked worriedly, looking at her widened eyes. "It's Maia, we need-" She said, pointing off in a direction but I cut her off. "Oh good it's Maia," I said sarcastically, muttering to her. "We need to go, we can't waste our precious time on someone like her." I gritted my teeth before grasping Madison's wrist and dragging her off behind Jackson and Amy. "What happened between you and her anyway? I haven't seen her in a while." Madison said worriedly, her eyes still wide. "Nothing important, you'll see her again." I shrugged, still dragging her off. "I don't think I will." Madison said quietly with wide eyes before racing after the others. I paused and tilted my head before turning around to stare in the direction where Madison was pointing. All I saw was demons attacking the Irenic guards, nothing else. Was Maia really there?
I sighed and shook off the thought, before running after everyone else. I had to stay on top of this plan and not let Maia distract me. I can't let her ruin this too. I turned the corner, but only to be faced by demons ripping apart Irenic members. I felt my jaw drop, this couldn't be happening. This isn't happening. "Ryan! Over here!" I heard a familiar voice call, turning to see Amy waving her hand at me. I nodded and tore my gaze off of everyone else. I followed everyone after the assistant, listening to the distant screams of terror and pleading for help. This isn't helping me at all. Once Kia is dead, hopefully we can help Irenic back onto it's feet. Who would be the new Counsellor? I glanced a head of Jackson and Madison to see Amy keeping her eye dead straight on the assistant. Then it hit me, Aurora would be perfect for the job, I wonder if she ever wanted to actually step up and take it.
"This is stupid, the assistant knows we're following him. He's taking the long way." Amy sighed from beside me, I turned to glance ahead of me to she her sighing, following Madison would took the lead. "No, he doesn't. He's taking the long way in case anyone follows him, he doesn't know that we're following him." Jackson turned and told Amy, giving her a small smile. Amy nodded and grew quiet again, and I turned my attention to Madison. We were currently walking along a brick wall of a building that was luckily not on fire. "Madison?" I asked, walking to her side. "I lost him." She said, turning to face me with a frown. I sighed and rubbed my forehead, turning to the others. "What's wrong?" Madison asked, tilting her head slightly. "We lost the assistant, any ideas?" I asked everyone, turning to Jackson hopefully. He shrugged and sighed, looking behind us. "I think we should help the other guards." Amy suggested, causing Jackson to nod in agreement. "Why? We already have something we need to do." Madison sighed from beside me.
