Random #5 (Pt. 3)

(Psycho Simon Comes Home)

Josh didn't tell Vik much about what happened when he saw Simon. Only that he was still insane and ready to murder everyone. Vik could tell more had happened because of the way Josh was acting; unfocused, jumpy, and quiet. Two days after the visit, the house got a call from the mental asylum Simon is staying in.

"Hello?" Josh answered.

"H-Hi, is this Joshua Bradley?" the man on the other line asked.

"Yes, why?" Josh was nervous to hear what news would be delivered.

"Uh-um there is a major issue with Simon he sort of-" the man was cut off by a scream in the background.

"What's going on?" Josh didn't bother to ask if everything was okay because it's clear it's not.

"Simon broke free. Meaning he's escaped..."

"Shit. How?!"

"We're not even sure, he's too violent for us to c-contain. We think he's coming for you." the man informed. Josh felt his face go white. His psychopath for a friend is coming after him and Vik.

"Are you safe?" Josh asked, concerned.

"For now, I guess, but worry about yourself got it?" The man didn't wait for Josh to say anything and hung up straight afterwards. Josh put his phone down and ran over to Vik's room.

"Vik?!" Josh called, his hand on the doorknob ready to open.

"Yeah?" Vik responded. Josh swung the door open. Vik looked up from his monitors to see Josh with an already sweaty face. "Josh what's wrong?"

"S-Simon." Was all he said.

"What about Simon?" Vik now felt uneasy. That name never comes with good news anymore.

"He's coming for us. He escaped the hospital, and is coming here." Josh explained. Vik's heart nearly stopped. It feels like a nightmare.

They decided to call Tobi and have him come pick them up. This way Simon won't notice Vik's or Josh's car missing and he'll think they're still home. It was getting darker outside which made Vik wonder if Simon left at this time on purpose. So that everything would be creepier. Josh sat on his bed looking at the gun he had bought after Simon left. He was always paranoid of something like this happening, so he wanted to keep a weapon. Josh just didn't know if he could actually shoot Simon if the moment came.

Vik filled his cup with ice at the fridge. As he walked over to the sink, he stared down at his feet. His heart was pounding, racing, terrified of not knowing when Simon will appear. While Vik filled his cup with water, he looked up at the frosted window. A bloody handprint stained the glass. Vik's heart nearly bursted out of his chest. He dropped his cup in the sink and ran towards the stairs.

"Josh. Josh! Shit. Josh!" Vik yelled, panicked.

"What?" Josh popped out of his room.

"He's here." Vik breathed. He stood out of breath leaning on the railing at the top.

" 'He' as in who?" Josh wanted clarification.

"Simon."

"How do you know?" Josh questioned.

"There's a bloody handprint! On the kitchen window." Vik described. Josh didn't want to believe him but he had to.

"Quick, get in my room." Josh commanded. Him and Vik scrambled inside. The two sat there waiting for whatever might happen next. They prayed that they would make it out alive. The sad part is, they forgot about warning Tobi.

"I'm going to check downstairs." Josh stood up. Vik opened his mouth when Josh stopped him. "Don't argue with me." He walked down the stairs not knowing what to expect. The vagueness of what Simon is doing right now is troubling to Josh. All Josh did was peek into the living room to see what he didn't want to.

There, in the window, was Simon's figure standing, staring at Josh. He slapped his blood covered hands onto the glass.

"Josh I'm home!" Simon sung. His voice was muffled through the glass. Josh stumbled backwards now feeling dizzy. Simon started clawing at the window. Suddenly, there was a knock at the front door. Tobi. Josh tried to pull Tobi inside fast enough. Tobi got in but Josh couldn't close the door in time. Simon stopped it by wedging himself. He put one hand on the door frame and the other on the door.

"Hey guys! This is why they call me Wedgeman." Simon said crazily. He smiled showing his blood stained teeth. This gave Josh a whole 'nother dimension of uneasiness. Him and Tobi screamed in unison. The sudden adrenaline rush gave Josh enough strength to force the door shut. They ran upstairs together.

"Are you guys okay?!" Vik asked scared and worried.

"U-Uh I guess." Josh answered.

"Holy fuck!" Tobi exclaimed, shaking. Simon could be heard outside yelling. The three stood paralyzed until it unexpectedly stopped. They still stood still not knowing what to do next. They weren't willing to risk it and run outside yet.

It had nearly been ten minutes with no sign of Simon. The boys finally decided to book it. They were half way down the stairs when they heard glass shatter. They froze in fear. The sound of footsteps coming into the house echoed.

"Look at them hiding like scared little sheep." Simon muttered to himself. "They maybe screaming now but I'm about the silence these lambs." Simon had gone to the neighbors and stole a hammer out of their open garage.

"Go go go!" Josh whispered. They ran upstairs softly but of course Simon heard them. He came up behind them and grabbed Vik's leg.

"Gotcha!" Simon laughed. He hit Vik in the back of his leg with the other side of the hammer. Vik yelped in pain as he collapsed onto the steps. Josh ran into his room to get his gun.

"Simon back the fuck up!" Josh warned, pointing his gun. Simon smirked and threw Vik down the stairs. Vik hit his head on the wall knocking him out. He then ran around the stairs. Josh followed him down. When Josh came around the corner, Simon popped out and smashed the hammer into the wall just missing Josh's head. Before Josh had a chance to react, Simon ran outside. Tobi came outside behind Josh but Josh kept Tobi behind him. Simon stumbled onto the grass.

Josh shot him in the arm. Simon hissed like an animal an clutched his arm. He stood up and ran away, not stopping. Simon was never seen again.
