I open my eyes and I'm in a small tent that seems very familiar. There is no pain in my head, so I guess I must be ok. I stand to see if I can walk. Walking is easy. I begin to walk around the tent.
Paintings of very familiar people line the walls. One painting catches my eye. It's a picture of a mother and daughter. They are holding hands while skipping. Both look fairly young. The mother is 18-ish and the daughter is 1-ish. The mother has long brown hair and bright green eyes. The daughter is the spitting image of the mother. Same brown hair, same green eyes, same happy expression.
What is this place?
There are more paintings. Many of them have the same mother and daughter. When the daughter starts to look about ten, the woman in the paintings changes. Instead of brown hair and green eyes, she has short red hair and blue eyes. The only young person in any painting is the girl. She doesn't look to have any friends, cousins, or siblings.
Once, I've seen all the paintings, I turn. In front of me is two beds. They are identical. The furs are brown and they are the same size.
This place seems so familiar.
I turn once more and find a door. Slowly, I walk to the door and push it open. Outside is a village. The village seems familiar as well. I feel like I should know where I am. At the edge of the village, are trees. Trees that seems to create a forest. The trees seem to be calling to me. It sounds like home.
Home...home...home...
Home! That's where I am! I'm home in the Earth Village. My head begins to hurt again. I lie down on the ground and clutch my head. It hurts so bad I begin to scream and cry. No one comes to help me.
Where is everyone?
The pain subsides and I slowly get back up. I am curious, so I begin to walk around looking for people. There is no one. Eventually, I get so freaked out that I go into tents. Every tent is the same as the first. The paintings, the bed, the door.
After the tenth tent, I run outside and yell at the sky. No one is here to help me. No one is here to hear me. No one is here. I run into the woods and snatch the dagger out of my belt. Crying, I collapse against a tree. I hold the dagger to my chest. Just as I'm about to put it in, my head begins to hurt again. This time is worse than any other time.
"Why?" I scream at the sky.
"Why?" I softly cry, the pain in my head too much to endure.
Again, I lie in the ground and clutch my head, crying. I rock back and forth. Eventually, I either cry myself to sleep or faint from the pain.
