30 Days with Genevieve
Chapter 5
"I promise you this party is going to be unforgettable," I said. Genevieve smiled and I took her hand. She did not object, she just took a deep breath and continued to walk.
We were walking to Hailey's party, and our costumes covered our whole body. I was a mummy, while Genevieve was a very cute vamp. She covered her face with makeup so that she wouldn't be recognized. I, on the other hand, covered my face with a little amount of toilet paper, and we were now walking to the party.
"What if I don't fit in?" she suddenly asked.
"You will. Just talk to them as you talk to me, okay?"
"You mean, insulting them and reminding them how despicable they are?" she asked in a serious tone of voice.
"Um, no. You can't talk to them that way."
"I'm kidding," she said.
I chuckled. "Right."
"But what if they don't like girls like me?"
"What kind of girls are you talking about?" I asked.
"Well, you know. Girls that would rather stay home and study than go out with their friends."
"Genevieve, you have to stop feeling insecure about yourself. You are a wonderful girl. Anyone could adore you just by looking at you," I said. Then, I noticed my cheeks were slightly red. I meant every word, though. Genevieve was pretty adorable.
"Thank you, Scofield," she said.
"Why do you have to call me Scofield? We already talked about how much I hate it when people call me that way!"
"Well, I hate it when annoying guys keep inviting me to multiple places, but I guess we both have to deal with ourselves," she said winking. I just hook my head in disappointment. It was going to be a long night...

"We are here!" I exclaimed as soon as I saw Hailey's house.
"Maybe I should just go back... My dad is going to--"
"Genevieve! You have to stop thinking about what your dad wants and think about what you want!" I exclaimed. Genevieve stared at me with nervous eyes, but then she just sighed.
"Let's do this," she said. A smirk made its way troughout my face and I took her hand once more.
We walked inside of Hailey's house and saw how other people from the school were there. We saw every popular person there, and we even saw a bunch of College boys. Genevieve smiled as she saw how beautiful the house looked with its beautiful decorations.
"What do you think?" I asked.
"I think it's a very new experience," she said smiling. Suddenly, someone turned the volume of the music up, and everyone started dancing.
"Would you like to dance?" I asked. Genevieve turned to see the ground.
"I don't know how to dance," she said.
"Don't worry, I don't know how to dance, either. We just have to move our bodies to the beat of the music, and make sure we don't step on anyone else's toe," I said.
"Is it really that easy?"
"Everything's easy when you have the Sean's beat!"
"The Sean's beat?" she asked, raising one of her eyebrows.
